About the role

As our Senior Policy Officer – Quality Primary Care Teams, you’ll support policy and advocacy initiatives that promote safe, coordinated and high-quality GP-led multidisciplinary care. Reporting to the Manager, Primary Care Teams & Advocacy Partnerships, you’ll work with RACGP experts, government and key health sector stakeholders to influence primary care reform.

As our Senior Policy Officer – Quality Primary Care Teams, you'll also:

  • Develop evidence-based policies, submissions and position statements
  • Research complex issues and provide strategic policy advice
  • Support government, political and stakeholder engagement
  • Prepare briefings, resources and advice on emerging policy issues


Skills and experience

  • Relevant public health, policy or related tertiary qualification
  • Knowledge of the Australian health system and health sector
  • National health policy analysis and development experience
  • Policy advice, position statement and submission experience
  • Strong research and evidence-based analysis skills
  • Excellent written and briefing paper skills
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Health guideline and resource development experience
