Do you notice the 2px misalignment everyone else misses, and feel the calm when a design finally lands right? Help us make pay transparency feel simple, clear and precise.
About Sysarb
Sysarb has worked on pay equity since 2005, when we set out to challenge unfair salary practices in Sweden. Today more than 700 organisations, from Swedish municipalities to global enterprises, use our platform to design compensation structures, run pay equity analysis, communicate pay to managers and employees, and report under pay transparency regulation.
The EU Pay Transparency Directive (EU 2023/970) had a transposition deadline of 7 June 2026. Member states are at very different stages, and for employers with people in several countries, that fragmentation is the actual problem. It is why demand for what we do keeps growing.
We are a Swedish company with a European market focus, operating across 70+ countries, and a founding member of the Pay Transparency Alliance.
Why this role exists
Pay transparency is complex. Job architecture, salary bands, statistical pay gap analysis, reporting rules that differ by country. Our users are HR and Comp & Ben specialists, and increasingly line managers who open our platform a few times a year and need to understand a pay decision in minutes, not hours.
Sysarb is built by a small team, and the platform has grown into something big with real impact. Our customers come with one clear agenda: solving pay transparency. When the design is not right, friction appears, and their energy goes into working around the platform instead of the mission. Our product doesn't yet look and feel the way we want. That is the job.
Now it is time to expand and take design to the next level. Today we have one product designer. You will be the second, with big, shared ownership: of the details, of the design system, and of how the whole product feels. You report to our CPO and work closely with the product and tech teams.
At the same time, the way we build software is changing. We use AI both in how we work and in what we build, and we are bringing AI capabilities into the platform itself. We want a designer who sees that as an opportunity: someone who prototypes with AI, thinks about how AI should feel inside a product people trust with sensitive pay data, and helps us move from idea to tested concept in days rather than weeks.
Some of the problems waiting for you:
A table with thousands of employees that a CHRO can still read at a glance
Explaining a statistical pay gap to a line manager on a single screen
AI that explains a pay decision without losing the user's trust
Connecting our Figma variables to code tokens, so design and code finally share one source of truth
Three things that make this role different
Details are the product. Pay data is personal and regulated. The right number format, the exact spacing in a dense table, a label that leaves no room for doubt: in our domain, the details decide whether a user trusts what they see. We care about them as much as you do.
AI is part of your toolbox, not a buzzword. You use Figma Make and other AI tools to explore, prototype and validate fast, and you help shape how AI shows up for our users.
Big ownership, shared. Product designers own the look and feel at Sysarb, and design is part of the sign-off before every release. Together with our product designer, you own design across the platform and our design system. We are establishing a new visual identity across Sysarb, and the two of you carry it into the product and turn it into a design system our developers can actually build from, consistently and fast.
What you will do
Own the visual and interaction details of the product: typography, spacing, states, micro-interactions, data presentation and the small moments that make software feel finished
Raise the visual quality bar across the platform, and hold it as part of the release sign-off
Build, document and maintain our design system in Figma, and connect Figma variables to code tokens together with our product designer and the developers who implement it
Prototype quickly with Figma Make and AI tools to test ideas with customers and colleagues before we commit engineering time
Work closely with product owners and developers in cross-functional teams, so design is part of the decision, not a handover at the end
Talk to customers. Join customer interviews and usability tests, and bring what you learn back into the product
Help define how AI features should look, behave and earn trust inside the platform
We are looking for someone who
Has a sharp eye for detail and craft, and can explain why one small choice is better than another
Has shipped product work you are proud of, down to the last state, empty view and edge case
Has built or evolved a design system that developers actually build from, ideally with variables and tokens
Uses AI and Figma Make in daily work, and can show us what it changed in how you design
Would rather remove a step than add a feature, and can explain why the simpler solution is better
Has the seniority to own decisions, defend them with product and tech, and change your mind when users show you otherwise
Communicates clearly in English. Swedish is a strong advantage
An advantage, not a requirement
Experience designing for HR, finance, compliance or other regulated domains
Experience with data visualisation and complex tables
Understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, React) and how designs turn into code
Experience designing AI features or conversational interfaces
What inspires you?
This is the most important part of our process. We want to know what you think is great design, and why. Bring the designers, studios, apps, accounts and objects you keep coming back to, and tell us what you take from them. There is no right answer. We are interested in your taste and how you reason about it.
You will meet our CPO and our product designer. A portfolio walkthrough is welcome, but not required.
What we offer
Occupational pension (ITP) in line with our collective agreement, with the option of salary exchange
Wellness allowance of up to 5,000 SEK per year
Full time is 40 hours per week, with a hybrid setup out of our offices in Arboga and Stockholm. Our product and tech teams are mainly based in Arboga, and you can work from either office
A product with a real purpose: our vision is to create fair employers worldwide
Our commitment to inclusion and a fair process
Sysarb is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to create an inclusive environment for all employees and candidates. Please refrain from including your picture and age with your application. We occasionally use assessments as part of our recruitment process, and we perform background checks on every candidate who qualifies for the final step of our recruitment process.
Include a link to your portfolio. Or share a few designers and products that inspire you, and a line on why. Both are welcome.
We review applications on a rolling basis and will hire as soon as we find the right match. Please note that we do not accept any job applications via e-mail due to GDPR regulations.
