Our vision
We aim to become the most beloved financial Operating System for French SMEs and Accounting Firms — and soon, European ones.
We help entrepreneurs get rid of time-consuming accounting and financial tasks while giving them access to the information they need to make better decisions for their business.
About us
Pennylane is one of the fastest-growing Fintechs in France — and soon in Europe.
In five years, we have:
💻 Built a groundbreaking accounting and financial platform for SMEs and accounting firms
💰 Raised €225 million from leading investors, including Sequoia
👨👩👧👦 Grown from 7 co-founders to more than 850 Pennylaners
🌍 Built an international and remote-friendly environment with more than 25 nationalities
🤝 Earned the trust of thousands of customers and accounting firms
🚀 Reached more than 700,000 SMEs and 4,500 accounting firms in France
Why this position is critical to our mission
At Pennylane, Product is at the heart of how we create value for our customers.
We are now making a major bet on AI: not only to automate existing workflows, but also to fundamentally change how people interact with their financial software and extend what the product can do.
Our AI ecosystem is being built across several complementary layers:
A shared AI platform, or “harness”, that provides the foundations required to run reliable agents: context, memory, tools, skills, loops, guardrails and observability
Studio Coworker, a conversational product experience that helps users analyse information and take action inside Pennylane
Autopilot, which automates accounting and financial workflows to reduce manual data entry
Studio Builder, the product you will own, enabling users to build and deploy personalised apps, automations and agents on top of Pennylane
Studio Builder is our most ambitious AI product initiative.
The idea is simple but powerful: give customers the ability to extend Pennylane according to their own needs, without requiring them to build everything from scratch. Users should be able to describe what they want to achieve and rely on AI to create, configure and deploy the right experience directly within Pennylane.
This could unlock a new way to use financial software: more personalised, more extensible and increasingly capable of adapting to every company’s specific workflows.
As Senior Product Manager, AI, you will shape this product from the ground up. You will define the vision, understand where AI can create genuine customer value and turn a highly complex technical ambition into a simple, useful and scalable product experience.
You will join one of the key teams shaping the future of Pennylane.
You can also read more about Pennylane’s position at the intersection of AI, accounting and financial software in The New York Times.
What you will own
The vision and strategy for Studio Builder
You will define how Studio Builder should help customers create, personalise and extend Pennylane.
You will identify the most valuable use cases, understand where customers struggle today and establish a clear product strategy that balances ambition, usability and technical feasibility.
The end-to-end building experience
You will own the experience through which customers:
Define what they want to build
Configure the relevant data, context, tools and actions
Test and iterate on their app, automation or agent
Deploy it within Pennylane
Monitor its usage and improve it over time
The foundations of an extensible AI product
You will work closely with the AI platform team to ensure that Studio Builder makes the underlying capabilities of Pennylane accessible and useful to customers.
This includes thinking deeply about how users interact with:
Context and memory
Tools and skills
Agent loops and workflows
Guardrails and permissions
Reliability and observability
Deployment and iteration
A clear product outcome
You will define the metrics that matter and establish how we measure success.
Depending on the stage of the product, this may include:
Activation and adoption of Studio Builder
Number and quality of apps, automations or agents created
Successful deployment and repeated usage
Customer value generated through personalised workflows
Reliability, trust and user satisfaction
Expansion of Pennylane’s product capabilities through customer-built experiences
How you will contribute as a Product Manager
You will work in a highly collaborative environment with Engineering, Product Design, AI specialists and other Product Managers.
You will:
Lead continuous discovery with SMEs, accountants and internal users
Turn complex customer problems into clear product opportunities
Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap and OKRs
Explore and validate new ideas through prototypes, experiments and MVPs
Work closely with engineers and designers from problem discovery through implementation and iteration
Make AI concepts understandable and valuable for non-technical users
Build strong product narratives and communicate them clearly to customers, stakeholders and leadership
Balance long-term product ambition with pragmatic, incremental delivery
Collaborate with the teams building the shared AI platform, Studio Coworker and Autopilot
Develop strong product principles for building AI-powered experiences at Pennylane
Measure the impact of what you ship and use those learnings to guide future decisions
Influence without authority across a complex, fast-growing organisation
This is a hands-on product role. You will not only define what should be built — you will actively explore, prototype, test and help make the product tangible.
You will also have the opportunity to shape how Product at Pennylane approaches AI: how we build AI products, how we explain their value and how we create experiences that customers can trust.
What you can expect during your first months
Within one month
You will learn about Pennylane, our customers, our product and our vision during onboarding
You will build a strong understanding of the accounting and financial workflows we support
You will familiarise yourself with our AI ecosystem, including the shared AI platform, Studio Coworker, Autopilot and Studio Builder
You will meet key stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design and AI
You will speak with customers and internal users to understand the problems Studio Builder should solve
You will develop an initial view of the product opportunity and its main risks
Within three months
You will have defined a clear view of the most important customer problems and use cases
You will have contributed to or shaped the Studio Builder product strategy
You will have identified the first key opportunities and product bets
You will have worked with Engineering and Design on initial prototypes or MVPs
You will have established the first product metrics and discovery routines
You will have started building strong relationships with the teams working on the wider AI ecosystem
Within six months
You will be autonomous in defining and steering the Studio Builder roadmap
You will have shipped meaningful product improvements or a major product milestone
You will have created a strong understanding of what drives adoption, value and trust in the product
You will have established a clear and repeatable approach to building AI-powered product experiences
You will have influenced how other teams think about and use AI capabilities across Pennylane
And beyond
As Studio Builder scales, you will have the opportunity to:
Shape a new product category within Pennylane
Expand the platform to support increasingly advanced customer-built experiences
Influence the broader AI product strategy
Help establish product principles, methods and best practices for AI at Pennylane
Mentor other Product Managers and contribute to the growth of our Product organisation
Grow towards a broader product leadership role or continue developing as a senior individual contributor

Who are we looking for?
Proven experience as a Product Manager working on AI-powered products, developer tools, platforms, workflow automation, SaaS or other complex B2B products
Experience taking a product or product area from 0 to 1, with the ability to turn an ambitious vision into a concrete and focused roadmap
Strong understanding of how AI products are built and used, including experience with concepts such as agents, LLM-powered workflows, tools, context, memory, evaluation or guardrails
Excellent product sense and a strong ability to identify where AI can create genuine user value — rather than simply adding AI for its own sake
A hands-on and pragmatic mindset: you are comfortable prototyping, testing ideas, analysing data and working closely with engineers and designers
Strong user research skills and the ability to build conviction through direct conversations with customers
Excellent communication skills: you can explain complex technical topics simply and create a compelling product narrative
Strong strategic thinking combined with a bias towards action and delivery
Ability to work effectively in ambiguity and navigate complex technical, organisational and customer problems
Ability to influence without authority and build alignment across Product, Engineering, Design and leadership
A strong interest in the future of software, automation and extensible product platforms
Experience in fintech, accounting or financial software is not required, as long as you are curious about our industry and comfortable with complexity
French is not mandatory, but it would be a strong advantage
Nice to have: experience with agent platforms, developer ecosystems, low-code/no-code tools, workflow automation, open platforms or product-led growth
This role is for you if you want to build a new kind of product — one that allows customers to extend their financial software through AI and helps define how AI products should be built at scale.
