Senior Project Manager – Civils & Infrastructure

Gloucester, Gloucestershire

£50,000–£60,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

You will like

Senior Project Management for a leading independent construction and development consultancy in Gloucester, delivering complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This established, growing multidisciplinary practice combines technical excellence with a refreshingly collaborative, people-first culture and a strong commitment to sustainability. You'll enjoy autonomy, varied projects, excellent benefits and the opportunity to help shape the future of a successful regional team.

You will like

The Senior Project Manager job itself, taking ownership of significant civils and infrastructure projects, particularly strategic land, utilities and major residential developments. Working closely with the Project Management Partner, you will lead project delivery, manage key client relationships and support the continued development of the Gloucester office.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead the successful delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, risks, quality and commercial performance.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, developers and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted client adviser, providing clear reporting, strategic guidance and practical solutions.
  • Oversee project planning, procurement, construction delivery and contract administration activities.
  • Manage technical and commercial challenges to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior Project Managers, encouraging collaboration and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to repeat business and new opportunities.
  • Support the Project Management Partner in developing the team's capability and reputation.

This is a genuine opportunity to influence projects, people and client relationships rather than simply manage programmes and paperwork.

You will have

To be successful as Senior Project Manager, you will have substantial experience delivering civil engineering, infrastructure or development projects, ideally within a construction consultancy or client-side environment.

You will ideally demonstrate:

  • Proven project management experience across civils, infrastructure or major development schemes.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, commercial management, programming and risk.
  • Experience of strategic land, utilities or large-scale residential infrastructure would be advantageous.
  • Confidence managing multiple stakeholders, professional teams and client relationships.
  • Ability to lead projects independently, solve problems and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Experience supporting or mentoring developing project professionals.
  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in Construction, Civil Engineering or Project Management.
  • MRICS, MCIOB, APM or equivalent professional accreditation desirable, not essential.

You will be an effective communicator, commercially astute and comfortable taking ownership within a collaborative, non-corporate consultancy environment.

You will get

As Senior Project Manager, you will enjoy a salary of £50K–£60K dependent on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including:

  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • 38 days' annual leave including bank holidays, plus your birthday off.
  • Enhanced 6% employer pension contribution.
  • Flexible/hybrid working arrangements.
  • Life assurance at 3x salary.
  • Aviva Digicare+ virtual GP and wellbeing support.
  • Private medical insurance subject to grade/eligibility.
  • Funded professional development, qualifications and CPD.
  • Three-month fully paid sabbatical after ten years' service.
  • Enhanced family leave and paid volunteering opportunities.
  • Genuine career progression and the opportunity to influence a growing regional consultancy team.

You will join a respected consultancy with an established client base, an exciting pipeline of infrastructure projects and a culture that values expertise, integrity and individual contribution.
