Marshall Group is the audio, tech, and design powerhouse uniting musicians and music lovers through genre-breaking innovation. Our flagship brand, Marshall, is uniquely positioned with over 60 years of rock 'n' roll attitude on stage, at home, and on the go. Our iconic products are brought to life by a dedicated team of 800 passionate employees and sold in over 90 markets worldwide.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our R&D organisation in Milton Keynes and lead project management for our Amps portfolio. You will take charge of a team of experienced project managers and shape how the function plans and delivers, so that it works consistently, scales, and keeps pace with product development. The team is already strong. What it needs is someone to bring structure, tools and focus, so that people can do their best work. If you enjoy building ways of working that last, and want to do it inside a brand that sounds like nothing else, this is the role for you.
What you'll do
As leader of the Amps project management team, you will support each project manager’s growth while building the processes and tools that set the whole function up to succeed. Day to day, you will run the rhythm of project delivery: reporting to senior leadership, handling escalations, aligning project budgets and chairing product decision meetings. Alongside this, you will work on longer-term improvements to how the team plans and executes, including more efficient ways of working with suppliers and across the business to shorten time to market. You will also run a few projects yourself, which keeps you close to the work and credible with the people around you.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Amps project management team, supporting each person’s growth and making sure they have the time and focus to do their best work
Build and implement project management processes, tools and ways of working across the Amps organisation
Chair product decision meetings and manage project reporting and escalations to senior leadership
Plan and align project budgets and spending together with other teams
Improve how we work with key suppliers and across the business to shorten time to market
Lead a selection of your own projects alongside your team responsibilities
Who we're looking for
We are looking for a project management leader who can step into an established team and make it better. You know that meaningful change takes time, and that good ways of working come from listening, iterating and building trust, not from imposing a single methodology. You work well across functions, manage a broad group of stakeholders, and keep projects moving while staying patient enough to earn people’s confidence. You will work closely with the wider Product Operations organisation and care about developing the people on your team.
You probably have the following experiences & skills
At least 5 years of project management experience, ideally in a product development environment covering both hardware and software
Proven experience leading a project management function, PMO or team of project managers, including responsibility for resource allocation and budget
A track record of introducing or scaling project management processes and tools, and getting them adopted
Experience with agile development methods and with leading change in cross-functional settings
A degree in an engineering discipline; a Master’s level qualification is a strong advantage
Our Pledge
We strive to foster an inclusive workplace and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, disability, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age or marital status. We firmly believe that Marshall thrives when our employees do, leading to better experiences for our consumers.
