The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our growing PMO business, supporting major infrastructure, energy, utilities, and capital delivery programmes.
The successful candidate will provide project management leadership across complex programme work packages, especially gas utilities network. Working closely with clients, consultants, delivery partners, and multidisciplinary teams, will play a key role in delivering strategic and nationally significant infrastructure programmes.
This is a full-time role based in Ireland with a hybrid working model, combining work at client offices (Dublin / Cork) with flexibility to work from home.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
· Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery management of assigned project work packages.
· Define and maintain project scope, milestones, deliverables, schedules, and responsibilities.
· Ensure project activities are delivered in accordance with agreed objectives, governance requirements, and programme milestones.
· Drive proactive project delivery to achieve outcomes while managing competing priorities.
Governance & Assurance
· Implement and maintain programme governance frameworks and delivery processes.
· Support programme assurance reviews and compliance with client governance requirements.
· Ensure project activities are aligned with recognised best practice methodologies including IPA Routemap principles where applicable.
Project Controls & Performance Management
· Monitor project performance against agreed baselines and delivery targets.
· Identify emerging risks and delivery concerns and implement corrective actions where required.
· Provide timely escalation of project risks, issues, and delivery challenges.
Stakeholder Management
· Build strong relationships with clients, programme leadership, delivery partners, regulators, and key stakeholders.
· Facilitate collaborative working across technical, commercial, procurement, regulatory, planning, and finance teams.
· Manage project interfaces and ensure effective communication between workstreams.
· Support engagement with government bodies, regulators, and external advisors where required.
Programme Integration
· Ensure assigned projects and work packages remain aligned with wider programme objectives and priorities.
· Coordinate interdependencies across multiple programme workstreams.
· Support programme-wide planning, integration, and delivery assurance activities.
· Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes, controls, governance, and reporting arrangements.
Essential Experience
· Minimum 8 years' post-qualification Project Management experience.
· Must have experience in delivering gas utility networks, or any other major infrastructure, energy, capital delivery programmes.
· Experience managing complex projects or work packages within large-scale programmes.
· Experience operating within integrated client, consultant, and contractor delivery environments.
· Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across technical, commercial, procurement, regulatory, planning, and finance functions.
Essential Skills
· Strong project and programme management capability.
· Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities within fast-paced and complex programme environments.
· Strong understanding of programme governance frameworks, stage-gate approvals, assurance reviews, and project controls methodologies.
· Ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders across diverse organisations.
Desirable Qualifications and certifications
· A degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
· APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ), APM Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), or equivalent.
· Any other Programme Management or Major Projects related qualifications or certifications.
