Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide expert cost planning, analysis, and reporting to support educational and library-related projects within the Learn with a Librarian community. In this part-time, remote role, the individual will prepare and maintain Bills of Quantities (BOQ), develop cost estimates and budgets, and monitor project expenditures against plans. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing project data, advising on cost efficiencies, producing clear cost reports for stakeholders, and ensuring that financial risks and opportunities are identified early. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will collaborate virtually with project leads, educators, and partners to align cost management practices with project goals and organizational priorities.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Control and Cost Management to oversee budgets and optimize project expenditure.
• Candidates should possess skills in Cost Planning and Cost Reporting to forecast costs and communicate financial performance clearly.
• Candidates should possess experience with BOQ preparation and management to ensure accurate quantification and documentation of project requirements.
• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline; professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, preferably including work on education, community, or cultural projects.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and Excel or similar software skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams.
