Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing cost-related aspects of solar energy projects from inception to completion. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), developing detailed cost plans, and monitoring project budgets to ensure financial efficiency. The role involves cost control, evaluating contractor and supplier quotations, and producing clear, accurate cost reports for internal stakeholders and clients. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to support decision-making, manage risks, and maintain financial transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Control and Cost Management to oversee project budgets and ensure financial efficiency.
• Candidates should possess experience in Cost Planning and Cost Reporting to develop forecasts and provide clear financial updates to stakeholders.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in BOQ preparation and review to support accurate tendering and procurement processes.
• Candidates should possess excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of construction or renewable energy project workflows; experience in solar or related sectors is an advantage.
• Candidates should possess strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with remote, cross-functional teams.
• Candidates should possess relevant professional qualifications or a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with cost management software and standard office tools; familiarity with industry standards and regulations is beneficial.
