Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide expert cost management support for projects, focusing on accurate estimation, monitoring, and reporting of costs throughout the project lifecycle. This part-time remote role includes preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), analyzing project budgets, and advising on cost-effective solutions and risk mitigation. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure alignment between technical requirements and financial objectives. Daily responsibilities include updating cost plans, validating contractor claims and variations, preparing periodic cost reports, and supporting tender evaluation and contract administration. The role also involves maintaining clear documentation, ensuring compliance with internal policies and relevant standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of cost control processes.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability in Cost Control and Cost Management to oversee project budgets and expenditure efficiently.
• Proficiency in BOQ preparation and review, with strong attention to detail in quantities, pricing, and scope definition.
• Experience in Cost Planning, including developing initial estimates, forecasts, and value engineering proposals.
• Capability in Cost Reporting, producing timely and accurate financial reports, cash flows, and variance analyses.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel and relevant quantity surveying or costing software.
• Solid understanding of construction contracts, tendering processes, and claims evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Several years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost management, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time capacity while meeting deadlines.
• Professional certification (e.g., MRICS or equivalent) is an advantage.
