Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor at RWPC is a part-time remote role responsible for overseeing cost-related aspects of water production and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), monitoring project costs, and supporting cost planning from early design through execution. The role involves updating cost reports, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations to maintain budgetary control. The Senior Quantity Surveyor collaborates with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to ensure accurate forecasting, contract compliance, and value for money across all assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Control and Cost Management to ensure projects remain within approved budgets.
• Candidates should possess skills in Cost Planning and Cost Reporting to support accurate forecasting and clear financial communication.
• Candidates should possess BOQ preparation and review skills to develop, verify, and maintain detailed quantity and cost breakdowns.
• Experience in quantity surveying for infrastructure, utilities, or water-related projects is beneficial.
• Proficiency with cost estimation software, spreadsheets, and relevant project management tools is preferred.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., RICS or equivalent) is an advantage.
