Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Description The Senior Quantity Surveyor will support hydrogen-related and broader engineering projects with expert cost management and commercial oversight. This part-time hybrid role is based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with a mix of on-site work and work from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), developing cost plans and budgets, monitoring project expenditures, and ensuring robust cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The role involves producing regular cost reports, supporting risk and value engineering exercises, and advising project teams on cost efficiency and contractual implications. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and project management teams to maintain accurate cost data and support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Strong cost planning and cost management skills, including developing budgets and tracking costs against forecasts.
• Demonstrated experience with BOQ preparation, quantity take-offs, and measurement for engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in cost control and cost reporting, including variance analysis and clear communication of financial performance.
• Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Engineer in construction, energy, or industrial projects; exposure to hydrogen or clean energy projects is an advantage.
• Relevant academic background in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage time independently, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and Excel or cost software skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to prepare clear technical and financial documentation.
