Bangs Laboratories
We manufacture microsphere-based reagents and analytical instrument calibrators for medical diagnostics, biopharma, clinical labs, and other life sciences applications. Bangs Laboratories experience in microsphere synthesis and fine particle analysis have established us as a leading manufacturer of polymer, silica and magnetic microspheres for diagnostic, research, and flow cytometry applications. We also manufacture many specialty products to support validation and QC programs for analytical instruments, including a broad portfolio of fluorescent, count, size, and cell viability standards.
Summary of Position:
The Senior Sales Representative drives growth of Bangs' microparticle products within the immunoassay diagnostics market by managing and expanding relationships with a select portfolio of immunoassay customers. This role is also responsible for hunting and developing new prospective customers across all microparticle markets, broadening Bangs' footprint beyond immunoassays. The ideal candidate combines strategic account management skills with a hunter's mindset, strong technical fluency, and the ability to build trusted, long-term partnerships with key accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Own and grow a select portfolio of strategic immunoassay diagnostics accounts, with particular focus on high-volume users of magnetic beads for immunoassay applications.
- Develop and execute account growth plans for assigned strategic accounts, identifying opportunities to expand Bangs' share of wallet and deepen the partnership.
- Serve as the primary relationship owner and trusted advisor for strategic accounts, coordinating across R&D, supply chain, and management to ensure customer needs are met.
- Hunt for and develop new prospective customers across all microparticle markets, not limited to immunoassays, to build a robust new business pipeline.
- Identify appropriate prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage the sales cycle to initiate and close new business across all particle markets.
- Meet quarterly and annual sales quotas through successful implementation of strategic account plans and new business development strategies.
- Coordinate sales efforts with other departments to develop and implement an ongoing strategy for both account growth and new customer acquisition.
- Develop and implement sales action plans based on interactions and results in the field, adjusting strategic account plans as needed.
- Maintain deep, ongoing relationships with existing strategic accounts to ensure exceptional service and uncover potential new sales opportunities.
- Possess in-depth product and application knowledge of magnetic bead and microparticle technologies, particularly as applied to immunoassays, and be able to conduct technical presentations.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction and protect strategic account relationships.
- Prepare accurate account plans, reports, proposals, and other documentation as needed.
- Achieve sales goals by assessing current and future customer needs and following a defined strategic selling process.
- Take orders from customers and manage processing through the Customer Service Department.
- Coordinate with other personnel to perform market research and regular competitor monitoring, with particular attention to the immunoassay diagnostics competitive landscape.
- Represent the company at trade associations, conferences, and educational forums.
- Maintain positive, long-term business relationships to ensure future sales and account retention.
- Reach out to new customer leads through cold calling and other prospecting methods.
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops, training, and professional societies.
