About Us

We are seeking an experienced Senior Salvage Recovery Specialist to manage and optimize salvage recovery operations across insurance claims portfolios. This role focuses on identifying salvage opportunities, evaluating damaged or recovered assets, coordinating disposal and resale activities, and maximizing the financial value recovered from insured losses.

The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in insurance claims, asset valuation, salvage negotiations, and recovery management. Working closely with claims teams, loss adjusters, repair specialists, auction providers, salvage buyers, and external partners, the specialist will help reduce net claims costs and improve recovery performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate salvage opportunities arising from insurance claims involving motor vehicles, property, marine cargo, industrial equipment, machinery, and other insured assets.
  • Review claims assessments, damage reports, repair estimates, valuation records, and supporting documentation to determine salvage potential.
  • Assess the residual value of damaged, written-off, recovered, or partially damaged assets using market data, condition reports, and relevant valuation methodologies.
  • Coordinate salvage inspections, technical assessments, asset categorization, and valuation exercises with loss adjusters, engineers, surveyors, and other specialists.
  • Develop and implement salvage recovery strategies that balance financial returns, processing costs, legal requirements, and operational constraints.
  • Liaise with salvage buyers, auction houses, dismantlers, recycling companies, repair providers, and other approved vendors to obtain competitive offers.
  • Negotiate salvage sale prices, disposal terms, collection arrangements, and settlement conditions to maximize net recovery value.
  • Coordinate the sale, transfer, collection, storage, and disposal of salvage assets in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify ownership documentation, title transfer requirements, liens, storage arrangements, and other relevant legal considerations before disposal.
  • Monitor salvage inventories, asset aging, storage costs, outstanding collections, and pending sale transactions.
  • Review salvage offers and transaction documentation to ensure that disposal decisions are commercially reasonable, transparent, and properly authorized.
  • Work with claims handlers to ensure salvage values are appropriately reflected in claims settlements and net loss calculations.
  • Identify opportunities for repair, refurbishment, resale, recycling, or alternative disposal where commercially and legally appropriate.
  • Investigate discrepancies between estimated salvage values, realized proceeds, and recorded recovery amounts.
  • Maintain accurate salvage registers, valuation records, vendor documentation, sale agreements, and recovery reconciliation reports.
  • Monitor salvage market conditions, commodity prices, used asset values, and industry developments affecting recovery opportunities.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements to salvage procurement, auction arrangements, and disposal processes.
  • Support internal audits, claims reviews, financial reconciliations, and recovery performance reporting.
  • Ensure all salvage activities comply with internal controls, environmental requirements, applicable regulations, and relevant insurance procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Typically 7–10 years of relevant experience in insurance salvage recovery, claims management, asset disposal, vehicle remarketing, loss adjusting, or recovery operations.
  • Strong understanding of insurance claims settlement processes, salvage valuation, residual asset values, and recovery accounting.
  • Experience managing salvage transactions involving vehicles, machinery, equipment, property, marine assets, or other insured goods.
  • Ability to assess damaged asset conditions, interpret technical reports, and evaluate commercial salvage offers.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating with salvage buyers, auction providers, disposal vendors, and other recovery partners.
  • Familiarity with asset title transfers, ownership documentation, disposal regulations, and environmental considerations.
  • Understanding of claims cost calculations, salvage deductions, recovery reconciliation, and net loss reporting.
  • Ability to analyze market prices, repair-versus-salvage economics, storage expenses, and disposal costs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and claims management, asset tracking, or inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain complete, auditable transaction records.
  • Relevant professional qualifications in insurance, claims management, asset valuation, or loss adjusting are advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while coordinating with geographically distributed stakeholders.
