Senior Scrum Master (Java/OSS/BSS) - Full Remote Portugal

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY A nearshore consulting engagement for a Telecommunications client in Germany is looking for a Senior Scrum Master to enable multiple agile software development teams within a complex BSS/legacy application environment. This is a senior consulting role for someone who thrives on removing impediments, driving delivery transparency, and bringing Agile best practices into a demanding enterprise telecom context. Engagement type: Consulting | Level: Senior | Language: English fluent (required) and German (required) | Location: Portugal-based, fully remote | Start date: 20 July 2026 PROJECT & CONTEXT You'll be enabling multiple agile software development teams working with Java , embedded within a complex BSS (Business Support Systems) and legacy application landscape in the Telecom sector. The scope spans Scrum ceremony facilitation, impediment identification and resolution (system access, infrastructure, release blockers, test environments, cross-team dependencies), and driving continuous improvement and delivery risk transparency in an external consulting capacity. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Proven experience as a Scrum Master in enterprise software development environments Experience working directly with Java development teams Experience in OSS/Telecom or other complex enterprise environments Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies , with hands-on facilitation of Scrum ceremonies Demonstrated ability to identify, track, and resolve technical and organisational impediments — including system access issues, infrastructure blockers, release/deployment problems, test environment issues, and cross-team or vendor dependencies Excellent communication, coordination, and facilitation skills across distributed and cross-functional teams Familiarity with Jira, Confluence , and DevOps environments Ability to provide recommendations on coordinating cross-team dependencies and managing delivery risk Fluent English — required for daily communication with the German client team Based in Portugal , available to work fully remotely Available to start on 20 July 2026 NICE TO HAVE Scrum Master certification (PSM, CSM, or equivalent) Experience with BSS systems and legacy platform environments In-depth knowledge of software delivery processes within a CRM landscape , or strong ability to ensure effective knowledge transfer and onboarding into a CRM environment Working knowledge of Java Compensation: €2,300 – €3,050/month net, depending on experience and seniority level.
