Overview

We're hiring a Senior Software Architect – Cloud SaaS & Agentic AI to define and drive the architecture of HYCU's next-generation cloud-native SaaS and agentic AI platforms. This role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, enterprise SaaS, data platforms, and Generative AI. You will define architectures that scale across large enterprise environments while meeting demanding requirements for security, reliability, performance, observability, compliance, and cost efficiency.

You will design and evolve highly scalable SaaS services, APIs, data and event platforms, and the architectural foundations required to build AI-native capabilities including LLM-powered applications, knowledge systems, and autonomous AI agents.

The role is first and foremost about exceptional software and systems architecture. You should have deep experience building distributed cloud services at scale and be comfortable working across engineering, product, security, data, and AI teams. Deep AI expertise is valuable, but strong architectural judgement and distributed-systems experience are essential.

• Bengaluru, India. Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

What You'll Do:

SaaS Architecture

• Define architectures for multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS services operating at enterprise scale.
• Design tenant isolation, data isolation, service boundaries, authorization models and scalability strategies.
• Define APIs, asynchronous processing, event-driven architectures and service-to-service communication patterns.
• Design systems capable of supporting large and highly variable workloads with elastic scaling and predictable performance.
• Establish patterns for availability, disaster recovery, data durability and zero/low-downtime evolution of services.
• Make architectural decisions that balance performance, scalability, reliability and cloud cost.

Agentic AI Architecture

• Define the architecture for AI-native and agentic capabilities, including AI agents, agent orchestration, tool execution, knowledge retrieval and LLM integration.
• Design secure architectures for agents interacting with enterprise data, SaaS applications and platform services.
• Establish patterns for RAG, embeddings, vector search, knowledge graphs and contextual retrieval where appropriate.
• Define controls for agent identity, authorization, permissions, tool access and tenant isolation.
• Design for agent observability, auditability, evaluation, reliability and cost management.
• Establish architectural patterns for human-in-the-loop workflows, agent autonomy, escalation and failure
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and determine where they provide meaningful product or platform value.
• Work closely with AI/ML engineers to translate AI capabilities into production-grade, scalable SaaS services.

What We're Looking For:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience as a Software Architect, Principal Engineer or equivalent technical leadership role.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale cloud-native SaaS platforms from architecture through production.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing.
• Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS architectures, including tenant isolation, authorization, scalability and data partitioning.
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern cloud-native infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of data-intensive systems, including distributed storage, databases, caching, search, data pipelines and data integration.
• Experience designing systems for high availability, reliability, observability, security and cost efficiency.
• Proven ability to solve complex scalability and performance problems involving high concurrency, large data volumes and unpredictable workloads.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, identity, authorization, privacy and compliance.
• Proven ability to establish technical direction and influence senior engineering teams without direct authority.

Nice to Have: AI / Agentic Architecture

• Practical understanding of LLM-based application architectures and AI agents.
• Familiarity with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, knowledge graphs and agent orchestration.
• Understanding of AI-specific concerns including evaluation, hallucination mitigation, grounding, observability, security and cost management.
• Experience integrating AI capabilities into production software systems is strongly preferred
• Excellent ability to communicate architectural trade-offs to engineers, product leaders and executives
