Title: Senior Software Engineer
Employment Structure: 12-month Contract-to-Hire
Location: Houston, TX (4 days onsite; 1 day remote)
Pay Range: $70-$75/hr

Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions that support critical business initiatives. This individual will play a key role in building modern applications, automating business processes, integrating AI-powered tools into engineering workflows, and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong Python development skills, experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in Agile environments. This person should be highly organized, a strong communicator, and a collaborative team player who can partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
Responsibilities
- Develops enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, coding, testing, and implementing new software and by modifying/enhancing existing software applications.
- Leads design/coding sessions, develops solutions, and implements solutions as part of a team. Performs complex analyses of system requirements and of existing business processes and information systems.
- Articulates design and resolves technical/design conflicts as they occur.
- Coordinates with business analysts and users to determine requirements.
- Reviews systems under development and related documentation.
- Resolves customers’ issues and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development of software.
- Contributes in advanced systems planning, scheduling and implementation.
- Mentors and fosters growth of peers and team members.
- May work on-call shifts on a rotation basis.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Copilot, and other LLM-based technologies to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional Software Engineering experience.
- Strong Python development experience building production-grade applications and services.
- Experience using AWS and Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude and GitHub Copilot.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities or LLM technologies into development workflows.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Experience using Jira for project tracking and software delivery.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
