Do you want to combine hands-on software engineering, cutting-edge data platforms, and international collaboration across the EMEA region?
At Axiomatics, we develop world-leading Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) solutions that protect critical data for banks, government agencies, and global enterprises. Here, you will work with cutting-edge technology and complex security architectures.
Founded in 2006, Axiomatics is a leading provider of dynamic authorization and fine-grained access control. As a subsidiary of Leonardo S.p.a. — a global leader in Aerospace, Defense, and Cyber Security — we combine the agility of a technology frontrunner with the robust backing and governance of a major international group.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer / Developer based in Greece to join our distributed EMEA Engineering organization and play a key role in our continued international growth. This is a hands-on technical role focused on designing, developing, and continuously improving integrations between our ABAC authorization platform and modern enterprise data systems.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Axiomatics, you will play a central role in building and scaling productized integrations with leading third-party data platforms, with an initial focus on Databricks, as well as Snowflake and other enterprise data systems. You will contribute as a hands-on senior individual contributor, collaborating closely with product managers, software engineers, UX, QA, and security specialists across Europe to protect sensitive enterprise data.
This role offers a blend of software architecture, hands-on integration engineering, API/SDK evaluation, and CI/CD pipelines, providing substantial autonomy to shape our integration ecosystem and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, productized integrations with third-party data platforms, with an initial priority on Databricks.
- Ensure all integrations fulfill strict enterprise requirements for security, scalability, performance, maintainability, testability, and operational resilience.
- Master how integrated third-party platforms store, process, and govern access to sensitive data.
- Evaluate relevant APIs, SDKs, integration patterns, and platform capabilities to support sustainable product development.
- Work actively within a cross-functional Engineering team, contributing to sprint planning, architectural design discussions, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD delivery.
- Deliver production-ready integration components, automated tests, prototypes, technical documentation, and reference implementations.
- Drive the continuous evolution of our integration capabilities, engineering practices, developer tooling, and reusable libraries.
Knowledge & Experience
To succeed in this role, you bring deep technical judgment in information systems combined with practical experience in third-party data platforms and access control mechanisms. You are motivated by being a senior individual contributor within an international, cross-functional engineering team: you actively share knowledge and support teammates, while the role remains focused on hands-on technical excellence rather than people management.
Your profil
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience in enterprise-grade integration environments or closely related domains.
- Solid programming proficiency in one or more relevant languages: Java (strongly preferred), C#, Python, or Node.js/TypeScript. Front-end experience with React is an advantage.
- Experience integrating with third-party enterprise data systems: Snowflake, RDBMS, NoSQL, BigData, or comparable architectures.
- Practical "Data Steward" experience configuring, enforcing, and maintaining data access policies within enterprise platforms.
- In-depth understanding of data storage/processing engines, access control mechanisms, and data catalog solutions.
- Track record of navigating complex enterprise environments with multi-system integrations, strict security constraints, and diverse stakeholders.
- Hands-on mastery of the following frameworks and standards:
- Java Spring Boot or EE
- Gradle / Maven
- JPA / Hibernate
- Spring Security with OAuth2 resource-server configuration (JWT/JWKS)
- Solid command of REST APIs, SDK development, event-driven or messaging patterns, and distributed integration architectures.
- Practical familiarity with cloud platforms and containerization: AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken (the daily operational language).
Nice to have:
- Practical experience developing against Databricks (APIs, data models, permissions, Unity Catalog, access-control mechanisms).
- Flyway / Liquibase database migration tools.
- Keycloak identity and access management.
- Spring Modulith.
- API specification and documentation via OpenAPI / Swagger.
- Code quality and CI/CD tools: SonarQube, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
