Avina might be a new name, but you may already know some of our teams. Therapy Pro, Adaptability Therapy and Tashacare have come together as Avina — one national allied health and behaviour support community with over 400 clinicians across QLD, NSW, VIC and SA.

We deliver Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Psychology, Positive Behaviour Support, Physiotherapy and other allied health services across the lifespan.

Our Values Guide How We Work Every Day

Progressive | Curious | Respectful | Collaborative | Informed | Purposeful

About The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to join our friendly multidisciplinary team in North East Melbourne, supporting clients across Northcote and surrounding suburbs.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied generalist caseload but also wants to share their experience, support other clinicians and play a meaningful role in developing the team.

You'll work with clients across the lifespan, so we're particularly looking for someone who brings experience working with adults, including swallowing and dysphagia management, alongside broader Speech Pathology skills.

You'll have the flexibility to work across community settings, with access to our Northcote office and opportunities to work from home for administration and other suitable tasks.

As a senior clinician, you'll also provide clinical supervision and mentoring to other Speech Pathologists, helping to build confidence, share knowledge and support quality clinical practice.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver evidence-informed Speech Pathology assessments and interventions across a varied generalist caseload.
  • Support children and adults with communication, language, social communication, swallowing and mealtime goals.
  • Provide assessment and management of adult swallowing and dysphagia needs.
  • Develop practical, person-centred therapy plans aligned with each participant's goals.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and guidance to other Speech Pathologists.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, support teams and clinicians across our multidisciplinary network.
  • Contribute to clinical discussions, peer learning and ongoing service development.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility that works for you - a combination of community-based work, office connection and working from home.
  • A supportive local team - with access to our Northcote office and a broader national network of clinicians.
  • Opportunities to mentor and lead - share your experience and support the development of other Speech Pathologists.
  • A varied caseload - opportunities to work across different age groups, presentations and clinical interests.
  • Professional development and clinical support - opportunities to continue growing your own skills while supporting others.
  • Multidisciplinary collaboration - work alongside OTs, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Psychologists and other allied health professionals.
  • A values-driven workplace - where collaboration, clinical quality and supporting our people genuinely matter.

What You'll Bring

  • A recognised degree in Speech Pathology and current Speech Pathology Australia membership (or eligibility).
  • Demonstrated experience as a Speech Pathologist, with the clinical confidence to work at a senior level.
  • Experience supporting adult clients, particularly in swallowing and dysphagia assessment and management.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision or mentoring, or the demonstrated capability to support developing clinicians.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, communication and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative, supportive approach to working with colleagues and participants.
  • A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle for community work.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain.
