Job Title: Senior Structural Health Monitoring Specialist

Location: United Arab Emirates (Remote)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: 100% Remote — Work From Home

Level: Senior

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Health Monitoring Specialist to support the assessment, monitoring, and performance evaluation of bridges, buildings, tunnels, industrial facilities, and other critical infrastructure. The successful candidate will apply structural engineering principles, sensor data analysis, condition assessment methodologies, and advanced monitoring technologies to evaluate structural integrity, identify potential deterioration, and support informed maintenance decisions. This fully remote position focuses on monitoring data interpretation, structural performance analysis, technical reporting, and virtual collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze structural health monitoring (SHM) data collected from bridges, buildings, tunnels, and other infrastructure assets.
  • Interpret measurements from strain gauges, accelerometers, displacement sensors, inclinometers, temperature sensors, and other monitoring systems.
  • Evaluate structural behavior under operational loads, environmental conditions, vibration, and changing service demands.
  • Identify abnormal response patterns, potential deterioration indicators, and anomalies in monitoring datasets.
  • Develop data-driven monitoring strategies, performance indicators, and threshold-based alert methodologies.
  • Support structural condition assessments through time-series analysis, trend identification, statistical evaluation, and engineering interpretation.
  • Review sensor installation records, monitoring system configurations, data quality, and calibration documentation.
  • Apply analytical methods and, where appropriate, finite element modeling to compare observed structural behavior with predicted performance.
  • Support fatigue assessment, vibration analysis, deformation monitoring, and long-term structural performance evaluation.
  • Prepare technical reports, monitoring summaries, engineering recommendations, and maintenance prioritization documents.
  • Collaborate remotely with structural engineers, asset managers, instrumentation specialists, and infrastructure operators.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, monitoring program improvements, and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Significant professional experience in structural health monitoring, structural assessment, infrastructure diagnostics, or structural engineering analysis.
  • Strong understanding of structural behavior, load effects, material deterioration, vibration, fatigue, and serviceability.
  • Experience interpreting data from structural sensors and monitoring instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as MATLAB, Python, or equivalent engineering software.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis and finite element modeling software.
  • Knowledge of signal processing, time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and statistical methods used in monitoring applications.
  • Understanding of relevant structural design, inspection, assessment, and monitoring standards.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, condition assessment documentation, and engineering recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with geographically distributed engineering teams.
What We Offer
  • Competitive compensation based on qualifications, experience, and role responsibilities.
  • 100% remote work-from-home arrangement, with no routine office attendance required.
  • Opportunities to support infrastructure safety, asset management, and advanced monitoring projects.
  • Professional development in structural diagnostics, monitoring technologies, and data-driven engineering.
  • A collaborative working environment focused on technical excellence, innovation, and infrastructure reliability.
How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit an updated CV highlighting their structural health monitoring experience, sensor data analysis expertise, structural assessment projects, and relevant technical qualifications.
