We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to lead HMI or embedded software projects for international clients within our HMI & Consumer Electronics business unit.

The ideal candidate combines practical engineering experience with strong project management skills. You should be comfortable discussing technical solutions with engineers and architects, understanding delivery constraints and explaining their impact to clients. Experience with cloud-connected products would be an additional advantage.

Requirements:

  • A strong technical background supported by practical experience in software development, testing or systems engineering

  • Experience delivering HMI or embedded software projects, with a solid understanding of architecture, integration, testing and technical dependencies

  • At least 6 years of experience in IT project management, including 3 years in software services for international clients

  • Experience managing both Fixed Price and Time & Material projects, with responsibility for budgets and project margins

  • A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and the ability to translate technical constraints into realistic plans and estimates

  • Confidence in managing client expectations and leading difficult conversations about scope, costs and delays

  • English skills at B2 level or higher

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cloud-connected products, IoT backends or AWS/Azure services

  • Familiarity with C/C++, embedded Linux, Yocto, RTOS or Qt/QML

  • Experience delivering software for consumer devices or automotive applications

  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices

  • Experience with Build-Operate-Transfer engagements or dedicated client teams

  • Familiarity with ASPICE or ISO 26262

  • German language skills

  • PMP, PRINCE2 or SAFe certification

Main responsibilities:

  • Run 1–3 projects end-to-end, with teams of 5–25 people, taking ownership of scope, schedule, quality, budget and margin across Time & Material and Fixed Price engagements

  • Work with architects and engineering teams to assess technical assumptions, dependencies and integration challenges, reflecting them in delivery plans

  • Plan resources and team capacity, and manage scope changes through a clear change request process

  • Act as the client’s main operational contact, leading status meetings, coordinating demos and resolving delivery concerns

  • Proactively manage risks and issues, escalating them early with a clear assessment of their impact and proposed next steps

  • Monitor project margin and team utilisation, and maintain monthly revenue forecasts

  • Support proposals with effort estimates, delivery approaches and staffing plans, together with architects and technical leads

  • Identify opportunities to expand the engagement and discuss them with the Account Manager and Business Unit Director

  • Build and develop project teams in cooperation with Line Management and HR
