This pivotal role sits within our SEO department and is directly responsible for supporting and owning the technical SEO strategy and execution across a portfolio of complex, high-value client retainers.
SALARY: £37,900 - £46,600 DOE (plus £6k London weighting if located within Greater London)
This is an exciting opportunity to make your mark by working with one of the largest and most successful independent search agencies in the UK, driving tangible commercial impact for leading brands while working alongside like-minded search specialists in our award-winning agency culture.
Responsibilities:
Technical Strategy Ownership: Own and support technical strategy across complex, high-value client retainers—leading site health, crawling, indexing, rendering, site migrations, and performance optimisation as part of an integrated account team.
New Business & Pitching: Own the technical SEO evaluation for prospective clients during the new business phase, identifying search opportunities and confidently presenting technical strategies within pitch presentations.
Mentorship & Team Upskilling: Act as a technical mentor for junior team members (Executives, Analysts, and Strategists), leading internal training sessions and helping upskill the wider department on technical SEO best practices.
Process, Tooling & Agentic Solutions: Collaborate closely with our Head of SEO on key strategic projects, process improvements, agency tooling, and the exploration and implementation of agentic AI solutions to automate and enhance technical SEO workflows.
Integrated Account Collaboration: Work as part of a multi-channel team on large, integrated accounts, effectively communicating technical requirements and priorities to client developers and marketing managers.
Thought Leadership: Share knowledge internally and externally by developing learning materials and contributing to agency marketing initiatives such as blogs and whitepapers.
Requirements and Candidate Profile:
Candidates must have:
Technical SEO Expertise: In-depth understanding of technical SEO across all facets, including crawling, indexing, rendering, Core Web Vitals, site architecture, and code-level optimisation.
Site Migrations Leadership: Leading end-to-end site migrations from a technical SEO perspective—from pre-migration scoping, auditing, and redirect mapping through to launch execution and post-migration performance monitoring.
Commercial & Pitching Experience: Proven experience evaluating technical SEO opportunities for prospective clients and contributing to new-business pitch decks and presentations.
Mentorship & Coaching Skills: A strong desire and proven ability to coach, mentor, and upskill junior colleagues in technical SEO principles.
Stakeholder Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a proven track record of translating complex technical recommendations into clear, actionable briefs for developers and marketing managers.
Departmental Collaboration: Experience working alongside departmental leaders (such as the Head of SEO) on internal initiatives, tooling, or workflow enhancements.
Demonstrable experience working on complex or higher-value businesses/accounts across national or international markets.
Who Are You?
Given the senior technical nature of this role, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate deep technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a proven ability to translate complex technical priorities to key stakeholders such as development teams, digital marketing managers, and channel teams.
You should be comfortable playing a pivotal role in commercial opportunities—owning technical SEO evaluations during new business pitches—as well as acting as a mentor to inspire and upskill junior members of the team. Additionally, you should be forward-thinking and eager to embrace emerging technologies, helping to evaluate and integrate AI and agentic workflows into our technical SEO deliverable processes.
While we typically expect around 4+ years of experience in an SEO-specific role, we will choose successful candidates based on their technical grounding, strategic vision, and proven track record of results.

We love the focus of deep work at home, but we value team connections just as much. That’s why we practice a hybrid model with a minimum of one purposeful Pulse Day in the office per week to catch up and collaborate. To maximise our time together, the SEO teams head into the office on Tuesdays.

We pledge to promote equal opportunities and, as per the Equality Act 2010, will not tolerate discrimination on the grounds of: gender, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, race, colour, nationality, religion, age, disability, caring responsibilities or beliefs. We’ll also make every effort to represent different genders, ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds and sexualities at the events, panels and discussions we run.
