Join us to transform the way the world works.

At LinkedIn, our approach to flexible work is centered on trust and optimized for culture, connection, clarity, and the evolving needs of our business. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

This role will be hybrid in LinkedIn’s Mountain View Campus.

This role is for a Trust and Safety Investigator focused on combating abusive automation. You will play a critical role in protecting LinkedIn’s members as part of the Trust & Safety Investigations team. We’re looking for an individual with experience conducting technical investigations into financially motivated abuse and scaled threats, who is accustomed to working collaboratively across both non-technical and technical teams for deep technical investigations and incident response. The ideal candidate will have specialized knowledge on scraping and automation abuse, can independently pull and analyze data for investigations and can produce high-quality intelligence artifacts to drive solutions in member safety.

Our Trust Investigators play a key role in protecting LinkedIn’s members and our platform from harm; we are looking for a self-starter who takes ownership over their work and enjoys being part of a fast-paced, collaborative team that values results.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate platform abuse by third-party applications and services

  • Produce high-quality analytic products for senior Trust leadership

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional working group of peers from Engineering, Product management and Legal on a daily basis

  • Manage incident response relating automation abuse, scraping and data exposure

  • Organize and effectively track investigations and reports of abuse

  • Prioritize and execute casework with limited oversight

  • Use AI-assisted workflows, agents, and notebooks to scale investigation and analysis, and evaluate the quality and accuracy of AI output.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, digital forensics, or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.

  • 5+ years of professional experience conducting investigations relating to cybercrime, fraud or platform abuse

  • Experience working with SQL, Python and other methods of analyzing threat data

  • Experience interpreting data and behavioral patterns to identify evidence of abuse

  • Experience conducting open-source intelligence investigations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Cyber Security, Criminal Justice, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.

  • 8+ years of experience investigating scraping, bot, and automation abuse on social networks, marketplaces, or other large-scale online platforms

  • Demonstrated AI skill development, including prompt and context engineering, agent use, and quality and accuracy review of AI output, with a record of applying AI to improve investigative workflows

  • Technical acumen and the ability to translate data and investigative outcomes into actionable insights for Engineering, AI partners, and senior leadership

  • Hands-on experience with Python or a similar scripting language to analyze data, automate workflows and reproduce abuse techniques
  • Experience leading complex technical investigations from detection through resolution, including scraping, bot activity or other platform abuse
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, well-supported investigation reports for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with packet capture and network traffic analysis (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump)
  • Experience analyzing HTTP traffic and debugging web applications to identify automated or anomalous client behavior
  • Experience analyzing large datasets with tools such as Pandas and Jupyter to spot patterns, link actors and quantify impact
  • Experience responding to security incidents or platform abuse escalations.

Suggested Skills:

  • Cyber Crime Investigations

  • SQL

  • Adversarial abuse analysis

  • AI-first workflows and automation

  • Anti-scraping
