We first made our mark with Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, a multi-million copy selling title that redefined melee combat in gaming. Since then, we’ve continued to grow and innovate, releasing Chivalry 2 and, most recently, No More Room in Hell 2. Today, our team of around 100 developers is dedicated to creating unique, challenging, and fun gaming experiences. The Role As a UI Programmer, you will play a key role in designing and delivering the user interface and user experience for our multiplayer realistic combat game. You’ll take ownership of UI systems and features across the game, working closely with programmers, designers, artists, and QA to build interfaces that are responsive, intuitive, performant, and consistent with the game’s grounded aesthetic. You’ll contribute to everything from moment-to-moment gameplay UI and HUD systems to menus, settings, multiplayer features, and the underlying technology that supports them. Note: While this role can be carried out remotely, candidates are required to be current Ontario or Quebec residents or willing to relocate to Ontario. Responsibilities Own the development and ongoing improvement of the game’s UI systems and player-facing experiences. Design and implement robust, responsive UI features in collaboration with Gameplay, Systems, Design, Art, and QA teams. Write clear, maintainable, performant, and well-documented code. Debug, profile, and optimize UI features to ensure smooth performance across target platforms. Work closely with UI/UX designers and artists to translate designs and visual concepts into polished, functional game features. Establish and maintain UI programming standards, patterns, and best practices across the project. Create and maintain technical documentation, and clearly communicate the capabilities, limitations, and technical constraints of UI systems. Collaborate with the broader programming team to identify technical challenges and develop creative, maintainable solutions. Contribute to improving the tools, workflows, and development practices used to create and maintain UI. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the usability, performance, reliability, and maintainability of the game’s UI. Increased salaries may be achievable for those who have achieved mastery and deep industry knowledge over time. Your specific offer will rely on your unique experience and alignment to our team's needs for the position. Transparency on use of AI and position vacancy Our recruitment process does not use artificial intelligence to automatically screen, assess, or select applicants.
