You’re a creative leader with a curious and open mindset. You’re not afraid to forge new paths, find new ways of doing things and share your learnings.
You're a forward thinker who sees potential where others don't. You'll have the chance to shape and transform urban spaces, contribute to sustainable development and create vibrant, liveable communities for future generations to enjoy.
In this role, you'll:
Be responsible for embedding urban design, design excellence and holistic, place‑based outcomes across Transport programs and projects. You will drive the integration of urban design into policy, planning, development, and delivery, acting as Urban Design Lead on projects of all scales, including precincts, interchanges, corridors, and transit-oriented developments.
You will collaborate across the branch, Transport cluster and with external partners to achieve consistent, high‑quality urban design outcomes, guide and coordinate external design advisors, and contribute to the continuous improvement of standards, toolkits, guidelines, and training. The role champions design innovation and excellence, represents Urban Design in internal and external forums, and supports the delivery of customer‑focused, inclusive, liveable, and well-integrated multi‑modal transport environments aligned with government and community priorities.

You are recognised for providing high level strategic and technical advice, confidently managing complex stakeholder expectations, and influencing urban design outcomes at both project and program levels. You have relevant infrastructure and/or public domain experience and hold tertiary qualifications in Urban Design, Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
