In this role, you'll:
Lead and manage the urban design program and project pipeline by overseeing prioritisation, resourcing, delivery monitoring and financial performance. You will embed urban design requirements, design excellence and place based outcomes across strategy, policy, planning, development and delivery activities, acting as the Urban Design Lead on programs and projects of all scales.
The role involves collaborating across the branch, Transport cluster and external agencies to ensure consistent, high quality urban design outcomes, guiding external design advisors to meet Transport objectives, and contributing to the development and continuous improvement of standards, guidelines, tools and training. You will champion design innovation and excellence, represent Urban Design in internal and external forums, and support the delivery of customer focused, community responsive and multimodal transport environments aligned with government priorities.

About you
You are an accomplished urban design professional with extensive experience leading programs, coordinating business functions and shaping strategy in complex, multi stakeholder environments. Your background in urban design, architecture or landscape architecture includes leading design requirements and development for complex, high profile infrastructure or public domain projects. You bring expert knowledge of urban design principles, frameworks and design excellence processes, and are highly skilled at applying these across policy, planning, development and delivery contexts.
You are recognised for providing high level strategic and technical advice, confidently managing competing stakeholder expectations and influencing outcomes at both project and program levels. You have relevant infrastructure and/or public domain experience and hold tertiary qualifications in Urban Design, Architecture or Landscape Architecture.
This is a permanent role based in Sydney CBD (Elizabeth Street).The salary for this position is a Transport Grade 9 ($163,145-$182,721) per annum plus superannuation. Part time and job share arrangements will be considered.
