Akselos is a fast-growing digital technology company delivering Structural Performance Management (SPM) to the world’s most critical energy and industrial assets. Headquartered in Europe with operations in Southeast Asia and the USA, we combine high-fidelity structural twins and real-time operational data to help operators run safer, more reliable, and more efficient facilities. Our technology allows customers to understand true structural behavior, prevent failures, extend asset life, and unlock higher throughput across Refining, Petrochemicals, and offshore Oil & Gas.
The opportunity
The Project Manager - Structural Integrity (Service Delivery Lead) is responsible for turning new service mandates into active, value-generating deployments of Akselos SPM solution for global clients. Working within a cross-functional Strike Teams alongside Sales, Product, and Engineering, the Project Manager guides each account from commercial sign-off through configuration, deployment, and day-to-day operations.
The role is suitable for professionals with a structural or mechanical engineering background who want to combine their technical expertise in simulation and structural analysis with project leadership and direct client engagement. It also offers the chance to shape how AI and automation speed up the delivery of Structural Digital Twins across heavy industry.
Location: Houston TX or Porto, Portugal
Key requirement: Bilingual in English and Portuguese (required) with Spanish a plus to support clients across Latin America.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Engagements & Pre-Sales Scoping
- Partner with Sales and Product Owners in value workshops to define the deployment framework for each client environment. Define the technical paths and prepare implementation plans with effort estimates.
- Collaborate with SMEs to explicitly lock down engineering scope boundaries and delivery timelines. Optimize project team resourcing and prevent unnecessary scope creep to conserve engineering services bandwidth.
- Manage project budget and milestones within proposed commercial frameworks, optimizing project resourcing.
Account Deployment & Execution
- Manage and execute the entire Structural Performance Management (SPM) solution deployment lifecycle for strategic operator and enterprise accounts.
- Track baselines and milestones, manage financial fulfillment, and spearhead the resolution of technical and onboarding issues.
- Partner with QA to ensure deployed digital models pass user acceptance and engineering standards.
- Cleanly transition deployed solutions to Customer Enablement. Post-deployment, manage operations, monitor asset health, and drive adoption of Structural Digital Twin use cases
AI Adoption & Delivery Acceleration
- Lead AI and Automation Strike Teams to systematically optimize blueprinting paths for primary heavy industry asset models (e.g., Piping, Pipelines, Cokers, Reactors, SMRs).
- Embed AI tools and expand AI-assisted workflows into routine deployment procedures.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Language skills: Fluency in both written and spoken Portuguese and English is mandatory. Spanish language skill is a plus.
- Background: Strong Mechanical or Structural Engineering background, with fitness-for-service (FFS) experience on industrial structures and assets.
- Professional experience: 5+ years of experience in Oil & Gas, Downstream/Upstream energy, or heavy industrial simulation, delivering complex structural integrity projects.
- Project Management: Proven ability to negotiate across Sales, Product, and Engineering validation gates to deliver on schedule. Expertise in managing engineering project schedules and milestones.
- Technical rigor: Highly comfortable with complex engineering applications involving finite element analysis (FEA), technical engineering information, inspection and cloud-based data integrations.
- Automation mindset: Demonstrated interest or experience leveraging AI copilots, agentic scripts, or automated frameworks to actively scale productivity.
