About The Role
Trinkets By Emily is seeking an experienced, hands-on Shopify E-Commerce, SEO & AI Commerce Specialist to manage and continuously improve our Shopify online store.
This is a fully remote position, and the successful candidate can work from anywhere. We are looking for someone who can independently manage the technical and customer-facing aspects of Shopify, improve our website across desktop and mobile, make our products more discoverable through Google and AI-powered search, and expand our products into relevant marketplaces and social commerce channels.
This is not simply a product-upload or Shopify administration role. We need someone who understands the complete e-commerce journey—from product presentation and customer experience through to SEO, AI discoverability, conversion and marketplace distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Shopify Website & Mobile Experience
Own and improve the presentation, usability and performance of our Shopify store across desktop and mobile devices.
Responsibilities include:
- Customise and maintain Shopify themes.
- Improve homepage, navigation, menus, collections and product pages.
- Create a premium, modern and mobile-friendly shopping experience.
- Optimise product cards, image galleries, variants, filters and search.
- Improve cart and checkout journeys within Shopify capabilities.
- Configure related products, recommendations, cross-sell and upsell opportunities.
- Improve website speed, responsiveness and Core Web Vitals.
- Test website functionality across different browsers and mobile devices.
- Implement changes using Shopify Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates and reduce customer drop-off.
Product Presentation & Merchandising
Develop and maintain a consistent product-page structure across the catalogue, including:
- SEO-friendly product titles and descriptions
- Product features and design
- Colour, material and finish
- Dimensions and product specifications
- Occasion and styling recommendations
- “Why You’ll Love It” content
- Product care information
- Product types, categories and tags
- Shopify metafields and attributes
- Product variants
- Image ALT text
- Related-product recommendations
Product information should be written for customers first while also being structured so that Google, AI search engines and shopping platforms can clearly understand each product.
Google SEO
Improve organic visibility of products, collections and the overall website.
Responsibilities include:
- Keyword and search-intent research
- On-page and technical SEO
- SEO-friendly product and collection titles
- Meta titles and descriptions
- Heading and content structure
- Image SEO and ALT text
- Internal linking
- Canonical URLs and duplicate-content management
- Sitemap and indexing checks
- Product and breadcrumb structured data/schema
- Google Search Console
- Google Merchant Center
- Google Shopping feeds
- GA4 and performance reporting
- Identification and resolution of technical SEO issues
AI Search & Generative Engine Optimisation
Prepare the Shopify catalogue for discovery through AI-powered search, shopping assistants and recommendation engines.
The successful candidate should understand, or be willing to develop strong expertise in, Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), AI search optimisation and agentic commerce.
Responsibilities include:
- Improve product information for machine and AI understanding.
- Implement and validate Product structured data.
- Develop detailed product attributes and metafields.
- Optimise natural-language product descriptions.
- Structure information around customer questions and shopping intent.
- Improve attributes such as jewellery type, colour, material, style, design and occasion.
- Ensure appropriate product information is accessible to search and AI crawlers.
- Monitor emerging AI-shopping capabilities and recommend opportunities for the business.
Marketplace & Social Commerce Expansion
Expand our Shopify product catalogue into appropriate external sales channels and marketplaces.
This may include:
- Google Shopping
- Facebook and Instagram Shopping
- TikTok Shop
- Amazon
- eBay
- Shop
- Other relevant Australian and international marketplaces
Responsibilities include marketplace setup, product-feed configuration, category and attribute mapping, SKU and variant mapping, inventory and price synchronisation, product-image compliance, marketplace-specific optimisation, shipping configuration and resolution of rejected products or feed errors.
Shopify should remain the central source of product and inventory information wherever practical.
