Description
WHO WE ARE: At Central One, our values are to Deliver Exceptional Service, Work as a Team, Have Fun, and the Credit Union philosophy of People Helping People; all while striving to be C.E.N.T.R.A.L. One Ambassadors. CENTRAL stands for Caring, Enthusiastic, Nimble, Team-Oriented, Resilient, Altruistic and Loyal. At the core of our values lies a commitment to our community, members, and employees, with a focus on overall well-being.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: The Social Media & Marketing Specialist owns Central One’s organic social channels and keeps our marketing running smoothly behind the scenes. This creative, hands-on role brings the Central One brand to life on social, manages the marketing calendar, and supports our branches and our affiliated businesses (CUSOs) with the marketing they need.
This is a great fit for a creative storyteller who is early in their career, eager to learn, and excited to grow with a team that is modernizing how Central One connects with members and communities. Success is measured by engagement that drives real results: visits to our website, application starts, and new members.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Own Organic Social Media
Make Central One the most engaging local financial brand on social.
• Own day-to-day management of Central One’s organic social channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, within the social strategy and brand voice set by Marketing leadership.
• Create original, on-brand content, including short-form video, photography, graphics, and written posts, using native platform tools and design tools such as Canva or Adobe.
• Turn member stories, community impact stories from our branches and events, product campaigns, and financial education into scroll-stopping content.
• Engage with our audience: monitor and respond to comments, messages, and reviews in a timely and on-brand way, and escalate member service issues to the right team.
• Represent Central One as an on-camera social media ambassador when appropriate, and attend community and branch events to capture content, which may include some evenings and weekends.
• Stay current on social trends, formats, and platform changes, and bring new ideas to test.
Measure What Matters
Show how social contributes to growth.
• Track and report monthly social performance, focusing on metrics tied to business outcomes such as clicks to the website, application starts, and engagement with target audiences, rather than followers and likes alone.
• Use results to recommend what to do more of, what to stop, and what to test next.
Manage the Marketing Calendar
Keep every campaign, post, and promotion organized and on time.
• Own the master marketing calendar across social, email, website, digital signs, branch promotions, and campaigns, so teams know what is going out and when.
• Manage the Marketing Request Form: review incoming requests, clarify needs, route work, and track requests through completion.
• Coordinate timelines, deadlines, and approvals with the marketing team, agency partners, and Compliance.
Support Our Branch Network
Help our front-line teams succeed.
• Partner with branch teams to promote branch-level campaigns, products, community events, and local stories.
• Coordinate branch marketing materials, including in-branch signage, digital sign content, and collateral, so branches always have current, on-brand materials.
• Be a friendly, responsive point of contact for branch staff marketing questions and requests.
Support Our CUSOs
• Create and coordinate marketing materials and social content for the Retirement & Investment Center, Auto Advisors, and Oak Tree Insurance Agency, in line with brand and regulatory requirements.
• Keep CUSO promotions on the marketing calendar and aligned with Central One campaigns.
Brand and Compliance
• Maintain brand consistency across all social content and marketing materials.
• Route content through Compliance review as required and follow social media, privacy, and advertising regulations and Central One policy.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Serves as a community role model and participates in volunteer activities to support the People Helping People value and enhance the Credit Union’s visibility.
• Stay current on job-related tools, regulations, and industry practices through reading, training, and professional development.
• Adhere to all applicable Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Schedule: This role is eligible for a Hybrid work schedule upon the completion of training
Compensation: $27.13 – $33.00 per hour, commensurate with experience
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, or equivalent experience or certification.
Experience
3 to 5 years of marketing, social media, or content creation experience, including internships, freelance work, or a personal or brand portfolio. A portfolio of social content is required.
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong storytelling, writing, and content creation skills, with a creative eye for design and video.
• Experience creating short-form video using native tools (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) and design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Working knowledge of social media platforms, trends, analytics, and scheduling tools.
• Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage a calendar and many requests at once.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Excel.
• Financial services experience a plus, but not required.
Traits
Creative, curious, and full of ideas. Eager to learn, open to feedback, and excited to grow. Organized and reliable, with attention to detail.
