Show job description

We're seeking a highly dynamic, creative and growth-minded Social Media & Community Manager who's ready to make a life-changing impact for millions around the world.

The Role

We're hiring a Social Media & Community Manager to own Glidance's content and communications across our digital channels. You'll be responsible for how the Glidance brand shows up, builds trust, and maintains an active and consistent presence across digital channels, telling the story of Glide – the world’s first intelligent guide for the blind and low vision community- and the people who use it while growing a highly engaged community.

This is a hands-on role with the founding team at an early-stage company: you'll own everything from strategy through to content creation, development, writing and posting.

Reports to: Head of Brand & Marketing

Location: Remote, Seattle Preferred

Start Date: Open

What You'll Do

  • Own and shape Glidance's digital media and marketing strategy across social platform (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, TikTok and more), and define how a brand-new category of personal robot shows up online.
  • Be the front line of our brand: Own the Glidance inbox and community communications channels, responding to inquiries with care and accuracy.
  • Build and run a content calendar tied to product milestones and events, and handle day-to-day publishing across platforms.
  • Design simple, low-friction ways to collect user-generated content (UGC) from demo days, field testing and early customers, then manage its intake, organization and production for social, marketing and community channels.
  • Create original content that makes Glide, and our brand, stand out: posts, short-form video, Glider stories, product explainers, content series, blogs and more.
  • Support marketing and sales coordination: newsletters, launch communications, partner outreach, and the materials the team needs to tell the Glide story.
  • Help support demo days, conferences and events, from logistics and promotion beforehand to content capture and follow-up afterward.
  • Set ambitious targets, track KPIs across every channel (growth, engagement, sentiment, conversions), and report bi-weekly on qualitative and quantitative performance with clear learnings and next steps.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years managing social media, growth marketing, or community engagement for brands; ideally startups, consumer tech or mission-driven organizations.
  • Exceptional writing and communications skills, whether it's a 200-character post, a 1,500-word article, or an empathetic email response to a preorder customer.
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proven track record growing social audiences and driving measurable engagement.
  • Familiarity with AI, robotics and emerging technologies.
  • Hands-on skill editing short-form video and creating simple graphics for social (e.g. CapCut, Premiere, Canva).
  • Experience with scheduling and analytics tools, CRMs, and sales and marketing systems (Pipedrive, Shopify, Mailchimp, etc.).
  • Sound judgment and genuine empathy when telling stories about disability and accessibility, and the instinct to let people speak in their own voice.
  • Self-direction and a deep desire to grow: you set priorities, own your workflow and drive conversations forward, with support when you need it.

Nice to have

  • Lived experience of blindness or low vision, or close ties to the blind and low-vision community.
  • Experience marketing assistive technology, medical devices, robotics or hardware products.
  • Working knowledge of accessible content practices: alt text, captions and audio description.

What we offer

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience.
  • A chance to shape the voice of a category-defining product from the ground up.
  • Work that directly expands independence for millions of people with sight loss.
