About the role

We are looking for a Social Media Sales Specialist + Designer to own the day-to-day execution of Somia’s social presence. This is a hands-on role combining social selling, social media design and social media management.

A significant part of your day will be spent in DMs, comments and audience conversations, identifying potential customers, answering questions, following up and helping move interested people toward the right Somia offer. You need to be genuinely comfortable selling, while knowing how to build trust and recognize when selling is not appropriate.

You will also personally create polished social content, including carousels, Stories, campaign graphics and other day-to-day assets, and manage a high-volume publishing schedule across our accounts. Instagram is currently our primary platform, with TikTok and LinkedIn becoming part of our growing social presence.

The right person is equally comfortable inside a design file and inside a sales conversation. You have strong visual judgment, strong commercial instincts and the organization to make sure content, leads and follow-ups don’t fall through the cracks.

About Somia

Somia is a nervous system retraining company in the health and wellness online education space. We help people navigating chronic symptoms, pain, illness and dysregulation create meaningful, lasting recovery and move toward a fuller life. We are a small remote team building programs, education and social content for a highly engaged audience.

What you’ll own
1. Social Selling, DMs & Conversion
  • Own day-to-day DMs, comments and audience conversations across Somia’s social accounts.
  • Identify potential leads and buying signals, including opportunities that aren’t explicit sales inquiries.
  • Ask good questions, answer pre-sale questions and objections, and confidently recommend the appropriate offer when there is a fit.
  • Move conversations toward a sale without making them feel scripted, pressured or transactional.
  • Follow up with interested prospects and own promising conversations through to an outcome.
  • Keep leads, follow-ups and handoffs organized so opportunities don’t get lost.
  • Help build and improve the social-selling system, including lead stages, tags, follow-up practices, common objections, resources and automation.
  • Share recurring questions, objections and buying signals with the wider marketing team so they can inform content, messaging and offers.

2. Social Media Design
  • Create polished social graphics, carousels, Stories, campaign assets and other day-to-day visual content.
  • Turn briefs, copy and raw ideas into strong visual concepts rather than simply dropping text into templates.
  • Use strong typography, hierarchy, composition, colour and mobile-first design principles.
  • Bring creative ideas and visual judgment rather than needing every design decision prescribed.
  • Work confidently in Canva and professional tools such as Figma, Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Help build and maintain a consistent visual direction and reusable design system across our accounts.

3. Social Media Management & Publishing
  • Manage a high-volume publishing schedule, typically around 7–10 pieces of content per day across feed posts, carousels, Reels, trial Reels, Stories and other formats.
  • Schedule and publish approved content and keep track of what is live, what needs engagement follow-up and what is still in production.
  • Work closely with the content and marketing team so execution reflects current priorities, campaigns and offers.
  • Monitor what is happening across the accounts and surface useful audience, engagement and conversion patterns.

4. Social Operations, Systems & Reporting
  • Maintain clear notes, tags, statuses and handoffs so leads, follow-ups and important conversations don’t get lost.
  • Coordinate with backup social coverage so everyone works from the same processes and expectations.
  • Report on social engagement, lead activity and conversion outcomes so we can see what’s working and where opportunities are being lost.
  • Flag sensitive or unusual conversations and route Customer Support issues appropriately.

You may be the right fit if:
  • You have real experience selling through social conversations. You can recognize an opportunity, ask good questions, follow up and move someone toward a purchase without becoming pushy or scripted.
  • You are a strong social/digital designer with good visual judgment and can independently turn ideas and briefs into polished social content.
  • You are highly organized and naturally create systems for leads, follow-ups, publishing and social activity.
  • You are proactive and take ownership. When something is unclear, messy or not working, you figure it out, propose a solution and improve it.
  • You communicate naturally and professionally in English and are comfortable working in a fast-moving remote environment.
What success looks like
  • Social engagement generates measurable leads and sales, with interested people identified, followed up with and confidently guided toward the right offer.
  • Our social accounts are consistently well managed, with strong design, reliable publishing and no important leads or follow-ups getting lost.
  • You increasingly improve the function, bringing forward ideas, audience insights and better systems for social selling and execution.

Compensation

Competitive monthly contractor rate based on experience, plus performance-based bonuses tied to sales and conversion goals. Strong performance will create opportunities to increase your earnings over time.
