Software Developer Leader (React, React Native & TypeScript)

Location: Philippines (Remote with 1 day/month RTO in Makati Office)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Developer Leader to lead multiple software engineering teams and oversee the successful delivery of client projects for innovative technology companies based in the United States and Japan. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who is passionate about mentoring engineers, driving engineering excellence, and delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the successful delivery of 5–10 concurrent software development projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality expectations.
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance, ensuring engineering teams build scalable, secure, maintainable, and high-performing solutions.
• Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of 10–20 software engineers working across multiple client engagements.
• Coach engineering managers, technical leads, and developers by providing regular feedback, performance management, and career development support.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor project health, engineering performance, resource allocation, and delivery risks, proactively driving resolutions where needed.
• Report engineering metrics, project status, and strategic recommendations directly to executive leadership.
• Promote engineering best practices, code quality, testing standards, documentation, and continuous process improvement.
• Drive adoption of modern development tools and AI-powered technologies to improve engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.

Qualifications

Required Experience

• Minimum 6 years of professional software engineering experience
• At least 2 years of engineering leadership experience, including direct people management
• Proven experience managing multiple software development projects simultaneously
• Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth technology environment

Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of software architecture and modern software engineering best practices
• Proven ability to design modular, scalable, secure, and testable software systems
• Hands-on experience with:
• React
• React Native
• TypeScript
• Python (Backend Development)
• Experience establishing productive development workflows and engineering environments
• Comfortable using Generative AI tools to enhance engineering productivity

Leadership Skills

• Strong coaching and mentoring capabilities with a passion for developing high-performing engineering teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams while balancing technical excellence with business priorities

Nice to Have

• Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI/ChatGPT) into software applications
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and modern CI/CD pipelines
• Exposure to product management and design thinking

Work Arrangement

• Direct Hire under an Independent Contractor / Consultant arrangement
• No fixed employment duration
• Candidate will manage their own Philippine taxes and statutory government contributions

Work Setup

• Required to report to a shared office in H.V. Dela Costa, Makati once a month
• Primarily remote work

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday
• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Philippine Time)
• Fixed weekends off
• Occasional night shift work may be required depending on project needs, with additional compensation provided
