JOB SUMMARY:
The Enterprise Integration Software Engineer is responsible for assessing, planning, and executing the integration of enterprise systems and data associated with acquisitions. This role partners with stakeholders from IMS Legal Strategies and acquired companies to understand business processes, source systems, data structures, and operational dependencies; translate those findings into secure, scalable migration and integration solutions; and coordinate implementation with the enterprise systems development team. The engineer uses software, automation, and AI-enabled techniques to improve data quality, reduce manual effort, preserve traceability, and validate that migrated data is complete and accurate while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads technical discovery with business and technology stakeholders on both sides of an acquisition to inventory enterprise systems, data, owners, dependencies, and integration requirements.
- Identifies and profiles raw data sources, including their structures, relationships, quality, volume, security requirements, and migration readiness.
- Develops target-state integration and migration strategies, including alternative approaches needed to address the unique operational or technical requirements of an acquisition.
- Partners with the enterprise systems development team to plan and implement additions or changes to standardized IMS platforms, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Dataverse, to accommodate new data types and business processes.
- Plans and supports the migration of data warehouses, data lakes, reporting assets, and related pipelines to Microsoft Fabric and other approved IMS data platforms.
- Evaluates, selects, or develops solutions that provide secure access to historical information that will not be incorporated into IMS production systems.
- Defines and maintains source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, data lineage, and key identifiers used to connect records between acquired-company systems and IMS systems.
- Builds and executes repeatable data migration and integration processes using APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, scripts, and other appropriate software tools.
- Develops and applies automation and AI-enabled tools to reduce manual data cleansing, matching, and deduplication effort for entities such as clients, accounts, contacts, and legal matters shared across organizations.
- Creates cutover plans, sequencing, rehearsals, rollback considerations, and support procedures to migrate data at the appropriate time while minimizing disruption to existing operations.
- Develops reconciliation and validation tools and facilitates business stakeholder review, verification, exception resolution, and formal approval of migrated data.
- Produces current-state and target-state architectural assessments, system and data-flow diagrams, integration specifications, migration runbooks, decision records, and stakeholder approval documentation.
- Monitors integrations and migrated data through stabilization, investigates defects and discrepancies, and implements improvements that increase reliability and repeatability for future acquisitions.
- Protects confidential, personal, financial, and legal information by following IMS security, privacy, retention, and data governance requirements throughout the integration lifecycle.
EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field plus 6 years of relevant professional experience; or a master's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing complex enterprise data migrations or system integrations; experience supporting mergers and acquisitions is strongly preferred.
- Advanced SQL skills and strong knowledge of relational data modeling, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation, data quality, reconciliation, and exception handling.
- Hands-on software engineering experience with C#, .NET, Python, or comparable languages, along with REST APIs, JSON, source control, testing, and deployment practices.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse, and the Power Platform, including enterprise integrations, data import/export, and platform extensibility.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric technologies such as Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Data Factory or Fabric Data Factory, OneLake, lakehouses, warehouses, notebooks, and data pipelines.
- Experience developing or applying entity-resolution, master-data, matching, and deduplication techniques; familiarity with responsible use of AI-assisted methods and human validation controls.
- Ability to assess unfamiliar enterprise applications and data models, identify risks and dependencies, and recommend pragmatic integration or archival strategies.
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation, architectural diagrams, data-flow diagrams, mapping specifications, runbooks, and stakeholder-ready assessments.
- Strong project planning, critical thinking, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate technical and nontechnical stakeholders across organizations.
- Self-directed and comfortable working through ambiguity, changing acquisition timelines, incomplete documentation, and competing operational priorities.
LOCATION:
- This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones.
Our Employer Value Proposition Includes
- Competitive compensation package with 401K match
- Flexible PTO and 12 paid holidays
- Robust health and welfare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, HSA, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance, all with generous company contributions
- Career development programs supported through an integrated Learning Platform
