Show job description

Do you enjoy seeing the direct impact of your code come to life in a 3D environment?

Are you excited by the challenge of combining programming, product engineering, and space-planning concepts to solve complex problems?

Do you want to build specialized technical expertise while working with configurable products used across global markets?

Helping You Thrive By:

  • Offering competitive wages and benefits, that support your life both in and out of work

  • Providing a flexible hybrid work schedule, meaning we expect the office to be your primary place of work, balanced with choice and control.

  • Creating continuous learning opportunities to help you grow and upskill.

  • Fostering a culture of inclusion where employees feel seen, heard and valued — and living it out every day.

  • Empowering you to make a meaningful impact on people and the planet through your work and Steelcase’s ongoing commitment.

You’ll Support Meaningful Work By:

  • Writing the logic that makes Steelcase products configurable in 3D. You’ll define how desks, screens, storage and their components connect, which options are valid together, and how products behave when a designer lays out a space in pCon, the industry-standard furniture planning platform.

  • Programming in OFML, a specialized object-oriented language, plus building your own test and automation tools. We don’t expect you to know OFML. We expect strong fundamentals in C++, .NET, Java or similar, and we’ll train you in the rest

  • Developing and maintaining Steelcase EMEA product catalogues used across multiple markets.

  • Programming complex product configuration logic, including dimensions, modular assemblies, component selection, and dynamic product behaviour.

  • Creating and enhancing 3D product representations and floor-planning functionality within the pCon environment.

  • Supporting catalogue release cycles through product additions, updates, retirements, and quality improvements.

  • Investigating and resolving product configuration issues, bugs, and enhancement requests.

  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders and external development partners to deliver technical solutions and product updates.

  • Learning and applying OFML and related technologies to support advanced product configuration and space-planning capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.

  • Programming knowledge or experience in languages such as C, C#, JavaScript, or Python.

  • Understanding of 3D modelling, architecture, and physical product concepts.

  • Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, pCon, or similar applications.

  • Advanced level of English, both spoken and written.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with product configuration and catalogue development.

  • Experience with 3D modelling, visualization, or space-planning tools.

  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, product specifications, and technical documentation.

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and related development practices.

  • Experience supporting product data, configuration logic, and technical system enhancements.

  • Familiarity with OFML, pCon, or similar product configuration platforms is a plus.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and apply them to complex product solutions.

  • Understanding of 3D modelling, architecture, and physical product concepts.

  • Experience with tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, pCon, or similar applications.

Benefits

We offer a package of fixed and flexible benefits (20,400 RON/year):

  • Flexible budget: vacation reimbursement (up to 8,620 RON/year), transport/fuel, meal tickets, private pension, gift & culture vouchers, sports discounts, and trainings.

  • Fixed benefits: 25–31 days annual leave, healthcare (Regina Maria), life insurance (up to 90,000 RON), health insurance (up to 8,000 RON/year), financial support, learning programs, office perks, and hybrid work.
