We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Analyst to join our internal development team and help ensure the quality, reliability and functionality of our software.
About the RoleThis is a hands-on software testing position focused primarily on manual front-end testing of new developments, system enhancements and bug fixes.
You will work closely with our developers, system support team and Project Manager to identify defects, verify fixes and ensure that software changes meet business requirements before being released.
You will receive guidance and support as you learn our systems and testing processes, with opportunities to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility over time.
- Perform manual functional testing of new developments, enhancements and bug fixes.
- Test application screens, workflows, calculations, validations and business rules.
- Create, execute and maintain test cases and test scenarios.
- Identify, investigate and document software defects with clear steps to reproduce.
- Retest resolved defects and confirm that fixes work as expected.
- Perform regression testing to ensure existing functionality remains unaffected by changes.
- Assist with end-to-end and integration testing between connected systems.
- Maintain accurate testing records and supporting evidence.
- Log and track defects using our development tracking system.
- Communicate testing progress, outstanding defects and potential risks to the team.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and post-release verification.
- Contribute to improving testing checklists, documentation and QA processes.
- 1–3 years of practical software testing experience preferred. Strong junior candidates with less experience will also be considered.
- A basic understanding of software testing principles and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Practical experience with manual functional testing, regression testing and defect reporting.
- Ability to write clear test cases and accurately document issues.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate effectively with developers and business users.
- Willingness to learn complex business processes and develop testing expertise.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification.
- Relevant IT qualification or software testing training.
- Experience testing web-based business applications.
- Exposure to financial, accounting, debtor management or transactional systems.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development environments.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or YouTrack.
- Basic knowledge of API or integration testing.
We are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys finding problems and understanding why they occur.
- Has a keen eye for detail and takes pride in delivering quality work.
- Thinks beyond the obvious and considers how changes might affect other parts of a system.
- Is organised, methodical and able to follow testing processes.
- Communicates clearly and isn't afraid to ask questions.
- Takes ownership of assigned work and follows through until testing is complete.
- Is eager to learn and grow within a software development environment.
- A supportive and collaborative development environment.
- Exposure to a wide range of business-critical software systems.
- Hands-on experience working with experienced software developers.
- Guidance and mentoring while learning our systems and QA processes.
- Opportunities to develop technical and analytical testing skills.
- A role with the potential to grow in responsibility as experience and capability develop.
