Company Description Betapawa Solutions is Nigeria’s leading solar energy company, focused on expanding clean and reliable power access across the country. The organization is committed to powering 5 million households by 2030, driving both environmental sustainability and energy independence. As an SBC Afritech ’24 company, Betapawa Solutions operates at the intersection of technology and impact, delivering innovative solar solutions to diverse communities. Role Description The Solar Sales Manager is a full-time, hybrid role based in Lagos, with flexibility for partial work from home. This role is responsible for leading and growing the solar sales team, setting targets, and developing strategies to drive adoption of Betapawa’s solutions among residential and commercial customers. Day-to-day tasks include identifying and qualifying leads, managing key customer relationships, conducting product presentations and site visits, and closing deals in line with company objectives. The Solar Sales Manager will monitor sales performance, prepare forecasts and reports, collaborate with marketing and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery and installation, and continuously optimize sales processes. The role also involves coaching and mentoring sales representatives, implementing training initiatives, and representing the company at industry events and partner meetings.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in sales management, preferably in solar energy, renewable energy, or related technical products.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, customer relationship management, negotiation, and deal closing.
  • Ability to analyze sales data, prepare accurate forecasts, and use CRM or similar tools to manage pipelines.
  • Experience guiding and motivating sales teams, including setting targets, providing feedback, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Solid understanding of the Nigerian energy market, especially solar solutions for residential and commercial customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site client visits in Lagos with remote coordination and reporting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or professional certification in sales or renewable energy is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to work ethically, inclusively, and collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Willingness to travel within Lagos and occasionally to other regions, as business needs require.
