Sr Engineer - Infrastructure Development
Xperi Inc.A week in the life of the On-Premises Infrastructure Development Engineer includes project work to improve internal technology and processes, maintaining our continuously available and secured resources, and working closely with other Operations or Product engineers to deliver best CI / CD solutions built on top of our on-premises data center. The ideal candidate is a demonstrated self-starter who is eager to learn new technologies, capable of independently identifying and solving problems and thrives in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Our work focuses mainly on the following areas:
- Build infrastructure for building C++ projects - including distributed compilation – on on-premises.
- Source code management systems.
- Secure firmware signing and key management.
- Release management tooling.
What you will get to do:
- Install, and maintain server, network, storage and build infrastructure, both on-premises and in cloud.
- Implement CI / CD pipelines.
- Update scripts and use configuration management tools to automate tasks.
- Respond to monitoring alerts to provide coverage of critical issues.
- Prioritize and execute project work to help achieve team goals.
- Ensure the security of managed systems and related data.
- Collaborate with other engineers to improve the product, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth software releases.
- Maintain currency of knowledge with respect to relevant technology, equipment, and systems.
- Produce and maintain clear and thorough technical documentation as it pertains to operating procedures, change management, inventories, etc.
Who we are looking for:
- 4+ years of experience as a Linux system administrator/engineer, experience with various Linux distributions.
- Experience with Docker (Kubernetes is a plus).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gerrit, Zuul, GitHub Actions).
- Experience in scripting and/or programming (Python, Bash).
- Experience with configuration-as-a-service technologies.
- Experience with configuration management (Salt, Ansible, Terraform).
- Experience with revision control utilities (Git).
- Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Icinga).
- Experience with Cloud solutions (AWS) is a plus.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment and manage tasks from a variety of sources.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
