About the Role: This is a hands-on leadership role. You will lead a growing team while remaining actively involved in architecture, automation, and technical decision making. This role owns the security, reliability, and operational excellence of our AWS serverless platform, enabling engineering and data science teams to deliver AI driven healthcare solutions quickly and securely. You will define our cloud platform strategy, establish security by design, automate compliance, and build a modern DevSecOps culture that scales with the company. What You’ll Do: Lead the DevSecOps Function: Build, mentor, and lead a high performing DevSecOps team while defining the technical roadmap for cloud infrastructure, security, and platform operations Own AWS Platform: Design, build, and operate scalable AWS serverless infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or Terraform), ensuring high availability, resilience, and cost efficiency Build Secure Delivery Pipeline: Develop automated CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls, including SAST, DAST, dependency scanning, secrets detection, and policy enforcement Drive Security and Compliance: Lead cloud security, vulnerability management, IAM, encryption, CSPM, and continuous compliance for HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 Improve Operational Excellence: Improve platform reliability, observability, incident response, disaster recovery, and production readiness using AWS native services (AWS CloudWatch, X-Ray, CloudTrail, GuardDuty) Enable Data & AI Platforms: Build and secure the cloud infrastructure that supports large scale data pipelines, AI/ML model training, and production inference Partner Across Engineering: Collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Compliance teams to enable secure, reliable, and scalable software delivery What You’ll Need: Required: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or Security Engineering, including at least 2 years leading technical teams Experience building or scaling cloud platforms in a fast-paced startup or high growth environment Deep experience designing and operating AWS cloud platforms with serverless architectures Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK or Terraform Proven experience building secure CI/CD pipelines and embedding security into the software development lifecycle Experience implementing cloud security best practices, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and compliance automation Strong Python scripting skills for automation and platform tooling Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner across Engineering, Security, Compliance, and executive leadership Preferred: Experience supporting HIPAA, HITRUST, or SOC 2 compliance programs Experience building or operating cloud platforms that support large-scale data engineering, AI/ML pipelines, model training and inference workloads AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Security Specialty certification What We Offer: Flexible work environment Competitive base salary plus a generous bonus and equity plan Paid time off including holidays Medical, dental, vision 401k Wellness and home office benefits, and more Pay Transparency: The target salary range is $170,000 to $210,000 annually. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
