The Manager, Commercial Analytics, is responsible for leading commercial analytics efforts across sales, marketing, market access, and executive leadership. This role serves as the primary owner of commercial insights, ad hoc analytics, KPI governance, and reporting strategy, transforming data into actionable recommendations that drive business performance.
Reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, this position partners closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Market Access to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, and support strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen, stakeholder management, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations.
The base compensation range for this role is $160-170K. Base Compensation is influenced by many factors including, but not limited to: time in the role, previous experience, skills, knowledge, performance, work requirements, internal equity, and business / economic conditions.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Commercial Analytics Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of commercial analytics initiatives supporting brand performance and business objectives.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for analytical support across Sales, Marketing, Marketing, Market Access, and Executive Leadership.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations to improve commercial effectiveness.
- Identify emerging business trends, opportunities, and risks through proactive analysis.
- Facilitate data-driven decision making throughout the organization.
Strategic Insights & Decision Support
- Design and execute analyses to support:
- Product launches
- Brand strategy
- Sales force effectiveness.
- Territory optimization
- Customer targeting and segmentation.
- Promotional response measurement
- Market opportunity assessments
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Translate business questions into analytical frameworks and measurable outcomes.
Analytics Portfolio Management
- Own intake, prioritization, and execution of analytics requests.
- Establish processes to evaluate business impact and resource requirements.
- Balance strategic initiatives with tactical business support.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality analyses and recommendations.
Reporting & KPI Governance
- Partner with Sales Operations and BI resources to define and maintain commercial KPIs.
- Ensure consistency and integrity of metrics across reporting platforms.
- Drive enhancements to dashboards and executive reporting solutions.
- Promote adoption and utilization of analytics tools and reporting assets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Life Sciences, or related field.
· 5-8+ years of experience in commercial analytics, business intelligence, sales analytics, or related function.
· Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or life sciences organizations.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms.
· Knowledge of pharma data sources such as IQVIA, Symphony, specialty pharmacy, claims, and CRM data.
· Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
· Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and reliability in outputs.
· Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Market Access to align on assumptions and outcomes.
