About the role:
As a Senior Packaging Engineer E&A you will design and optimise product packaging to ensure product integrity, quality and appeal under various distribution and operating conditions. Test, analyse and select packaging materials based on durability, cost-effectiveness and compatibility with production lines. Drive continuous improvement activities to maintain and enhance existing packaging solutions. Apply your hands-on experience with a variety of packaging concepts, practices and procedures to achieve project goals efficiently and cost-effectively. Participate in and lead packaging-related projects, bringing creativity and sound judgement to the development and implementation of effective solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Support global rebranding, packaging modernisation and New Product Development initiatives by designing, testing, validating and launching new and improved packaging solutions.
- Act as the packaging subject matter expert within cross-functional project teams, ensuring packaging activities and deliverables are completed in line with project timelines, quality standards and budgets.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, Strategic Sourcing, R&D, Quality, suppliers and contract manufacturers to develop, qualify and implement packaging solutions.
- Lead packaging development, validation and continuous improvement projects, ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory and relevant ASTM, ISO and regional requirements.
- Plan and execute packaging trials and testing, prepare validation protocols and reports, and support equipment qualification activities.
- Develop packaging specifications and technical documentation, manage packaging-related engineering changes and maintain accurate records within relevant systems.
- Evaluate new packaging concepts and technologies, considering technical feasibility, sustainability, supply chain, manufacturing, cost and consumer impact.
- Investigate packaging-related issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and improvement actions.
- Manage multiple priorities and packaging projects independently, while leveraging expertise across global Packaging and Design Engineering teams when required.

Our Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science or a related field.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Packaging Engineering, ideally within a regulated environment.
- Experience within the Food, Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Vitamins or Nutritional Supplements industries is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of ASTM/ISO standards, CAPA, qualification and validation processes, and audit procedures.
- Familiarity with the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
- Experience in packaging engineering and design, including structured problem-solving, statistical tools, packaging test methods and related testing equipment.
- Experience working in a cGMP-compliant manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external manufacturing partners.
- A proactive, results-oriented and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a changing environment.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily locally and regionally, depending on business needs.
Nice to have:
- Degree specifically in Packaging Engineering.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma, TPM and OEE.
- Additional foreign language(s).
