With a global team of engineering, commercial, and operational experts, we are helping define the next generation of clean energy infrastructure.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Sr. Sales Director to lead Nextpower’s commercial growth in Mexico and support strategic opportunities across Latin America.

Based in Mexico City, this role will develop customer relationships, shape market strategy, originate opportunities, and lead complex sales processes with renewable energy developers, owners, EPCs, investors, and other key stakeholders. The Sales Director will be responsible for building a high-quality pipeline, winning strategic business, and ensuring profitable revenue growth.

Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, LATAM, this leader will work closely with global Sales, Business Development, Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and Project Management teams to deliver compelling solutions and an exceptional customer experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the sales strategy and commercial development of Nextpower’s utility-scale renewable energy business in Mexico, while supporting priority opportunities across Latin America.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with developers, project owners, EPCs, investors, advisors, and other decision-makers across the regional energy ecosystem.
  • Formulate go-to-market strategies for new product introduction in key markets.
  • Originate, qualify, and advance opportunities from early market engagement through proposal, negotiation, contract execution, and handoff to project delivery.
  • Develop account plans, market-entry strategies, pipeline priorities, and customer engagement plans aligned with regional growth objectives.
  • Lead complex bids and negotiations, including value proposition development, pricing strategy, commercial terms, deal structuring, and contract closure.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define solutions that address customer requirements, project economics, constructability, and risk, ensuring the highest level of customer success.
  • Ensure commercial proposals and transactions meet profitability objectives, including disciplined pricing, margin management, and approval requirements.
  • Manage sales forecasts, opportunity tracking, customer activity, and technical resource coordination through Salesforce, and other approved systems.
  • Collaborate with Sales Enablement, Marketing and Product Management to provide market intelligence, customer feedback, competitive insights, and input on regional product requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in complex sales, business development, or commercial leadership within renewable energy, infrastructure, or an adjacent industry.
  • Demonstrated success originating and closing complex, multi-stakeholder transactions.
  • Deep experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects and the commercial dynamics of the Mexican market.
  • Established relationships with senior decision-makers at developers, IPPs, owners, EPCs, investors, and technical or financial advisors.
  • Strong understanding of project development, procurement, contracting, financing, construction, and technology-selection processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute account strategies, negotiate commercial agreements, and manage long sales cycles.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing, deal economics, gross margin, risk assessment, and contract terms.
  • Experience using Salesforce, or comparable CRM and ERP platforms.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Mexico and Latin America.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced technical degree is a plus.
  • Experience across solar, wind, energy storage, power infrastructure, or related clean energy technologies.
  • Familiarity with utility-scale equipment, project engineering, construction requirements, and customer procurement processes.
  • Experience working in global, cross-functional, and matrixed organizations.

Key Competencies

  • Strategic and commercially minded
  • Proven hunter, negotiator, and closer
  • Trusted senior-level relationship builder
  • Customer-focused and solutions-oriented
  • Strong understanding of project and business economics
  • Collaborative, decisive, and accountable
  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and at executive level
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, international environments

How Success Will Be Measured

  • Growth in qualified pipeline and bookings across Mexico and priority LATAM markets
  • Successful acquisition and expansion of strategic customer accounts
  • Consistent achievement of revenue, margin, and business development objectives
  • Improved forecast accuracy and sales process discipline
  • Strong customer relationships and successful project handoffs
  • Increased market penetration and adoption of Nextpower’s solutions
