As a Sr Systems Engineer in Norcross, GA or Omaha,, NE, you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise payment systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere, COBOL, AIX, Linux, and the MTS payments platform, and will be responsible for maintaining application stability, implementing enhancements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support, maintain, and enhance applications running on the MTS payments platform.
• Develop and troubleshoot COBOL programs and batch jobs in a high-volume transaction environment.
• Manage and deploy applications using IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Perform system administration tasks on AIX and Linux servers related to application support.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to ensure system reliability and compliance.
• Participate in incident management and root cause analysis for production issues.
• Document technical processes, configurations, and procedures.
• Assist in planning and executing application upgrades and migrations.
• Monitor application performance and implement tuning strategies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience in application engineering or software development.
• Strong proficiency in COBOL and experience with legacy systems.
• Hands-on experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server.
• Solid understanding of AIX and Linux operating systems.
• Experience working with the MTS payments platform or similar transaction processing systems.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Perl) and job scheduling tools.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services or payment processing environments.
• Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and service management tools.
