Position Overview:
As a Staff Accountant you will be supporting the daily and weekly needs of the Accounting/Finance team. We seek a motivated, self-starter who prioritizes attention to detail and accuracy. The Staff Accountant must be able to work with sensitive and confidential information, so trustworthiness is important, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills as we work in a team-oriented environment.
As a member of our Finance Team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of our organization. You’ll use your diligence, as well as your keen eye for details, to support our company and clients – ultimately impacting the financial trajectory of our company 🌱. Location: Mexico - This role is 100% remote anywhere in Mexico.
Reports to: Finance Manager
Travel ✈️ Requirement: Up to 5%
What you’ll be working on:
- Provide key support to various finance functions
- Implement systems, software, processes, and procedures
- Maintain a system of controls over all accounting transactions
- Assist with issuing timely and accurate monthly financial statements
- Ensure clients are invoiced timely and accurately
- Facilitate collection efforts
- Apply client payments
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed within deadlines
- Assist with annual audit requests
- Prepare ad hoc reports as required, including special projects as necessary
- Maintain a customer service mindset to ensure all internal and external customers are satisfied

What you bring to the role:
- 3+ years of progressively responsible experience
- Accounting degree
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (fluent in both spoken and written communication) preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Commitment to producing error-free work
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of AI tools such as Copilot and Claude, and the ability to drive process improvements using AI
- Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency organizations
- Experience working with international groups and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is a plus
- Ability to work in a remote environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, self-motivation, and the ability to work both in a team and independently
- Customer service mindset

⭐️ Bonus points if you have:
- CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent with public accounting experience
- Familiarity with SAGE Intacct accounting software
- Exposure to international groups and IFRS is a plus
