About SailPoint:

SailPoint is the leader in identity security for the self-hosted and cloud enterprise. Our identity security solutions secure and enable thousands of enterprise companies worldwide, giving our customers unmatched visibility into the entirety of their digital workforce, ensuring workers have the right access to do their job – no more, no less.

Built on a foundation of customer-customization and extensibility, our Identity Product Platform delivers the right level of access to the right identities and resources at the right time—matching the scale, velocity, and changing needs of today’s self-hosted and cloud-oriented, modern enterprise.

About the Role:
SailPoint is seeking UI Engineers to join our engineering team and shape the front-end user experience of our cloud-based SaaS product, Identity Now.

The Mission:
Your core objective in this role is to architect and deliver high-performance, intuitive UI experiences using the Angular framework, while simultaneously elevating frontend code quality, testing standards, and the overall velocity of our engineering team. You will operate in a highly Agile environment, building new functionalities and evolving our publicly available legacy components.

What You Bring (Requirements):

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience creating fast, scalable, and cross-browser compatible web-based UIs.
  • Deep, hands-on knowledge of JavaScript, CSS, HTML, JSON, REST, AJAX, XML, and HTTP.
  • Production experience with one or more major JavaScript frameworks and tooling (Angular highly preferred; React, ExtJS, Webpack, NodeJS also valued).
  • Proven experience with Automated UI testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Jest, Karma, Protractor, Selenium, Jasmine).
  • A solid understanding of backend architecture and microservices systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • A Degree in Computer Science or equivalent preferred (or relevant hands-on work experience).

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Advanced experience with the modern Angular ecosystem (Angular, TypeScript, NgRx, NodeJS, and NestJS).
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) deployments.
  • Previous experience building commercial security applications or enterprise infrastructure products.
  • Deep experience in an Agile/Scrum development methodology.

What You Will Achieve (Your Milestones):
Instead of a generic list of responsibilities, here is what success looks like in your first year:

Within 30 Days:

  • Map our current UI architecture, take ownership of incident response workflows, and resolve initial customer UI bugs. You will dive into application telemetry to identify immediate UI pain points and propose targeted improvements.

Within 60 Days:

  • Ship major responsive Angular/TypeScript components to production. You will closely collaborate with our UX team on interaction designs and partner with Microservices teams to define strict, scalable REST API contracts.

Within 90 Days:

  • Own software quality from the front end. You will significantly increase automated UI test coverage (using frameworks like Cypress, Jest, or Karma) on your assigned Identity Now modules, ensuring zero critical UI regressions on your releases.

Within 6 Months & Beyond:

  • Serve as a technical mentor to mid-level and junior engineers. You will work directly with Product Management to break down engineering work, create accurate estimates for quarterly epics, and lead frontend architecture planning sessions.
