Deligo is a leader in visual AI self-checkout for the convenience retail industry, trusted by global brands like Compass, Sodexo, Marks & Spencer, and Spar.
We build advanced visual AI - developed by a top-notch machine learning team - to recognize food and retail items instantly. No barcodes, no manual scanning. Just place your items and tap to pay: it’s that simple. The result: a magical experience that improves everyday lives by saving time standing in checkout lines.
But this isn’t just exceptional tech: We are a tight-knit team of curious, passionate and ambitious builders who take pride in our craft and value trust in everything we do. If you’re looking to join a rocket ship and help redefine the future of AI-powered checkout, we’d love to meet you! 🚀
Role at a glance
As our Strategic Buyer, you’ll help Deligo prepare for its next stage of growth by building a resilient, cost-effective supply chain for our self-checkout kiosks. You’ll look 6–12 months ahead, secure supply of critical electronic and electromechanical components, and build lasting partnerships with suppliers across Europe and Asia.
This is a hands-on role with room to shape how procurement works at Deligo. You’ll work closely with Sales, Hardware Operations, R&D, Finance, and Quality to turn growth plans into a reliable supply of the parts we need.
How you’ll make a difference
Build sourcing strategies for critical kiosk components, including computing, cameras, displays, power, thermal management, mechanics, cabling, and packaging
Identify single-source and long-lead-time risks, qualify alternative suppliers and components, and lead RFI, RFQ, supplier selection, and audit processes with R&D and Quality
Negotiate prices, payment terms, Incoterms, lead times, and volume commitments with suppliers
Set up and manage framework agreements and long-term supply contracts, covering forecasts, capacity, stock, delivery, pricing, warranty, and end-of-life terms
Turn sales forecasts into rolling supply plans, secure capacity ahead of demand peaks, and track market changes that could affect cost or availability
Own the BOM cost roadmap and work with R&D on design-to-cost, value engineering, alternative parts, and make-versus-buy decisions
Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers, review performance, track KPIs, and lead corrective actions when needed
Develop the procurement playbook, including supplier qualification, approved vendor lists, contract templates, and sourcing records
Work with Operations to improve ERP and inventory data, MOQ settings, and safety-stock rules
Coordinate with our compliance owner to collect supplier documentation such as CE, EMC, RoHS, and REACH declarations
What makes you a great fit
You have 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, including at least 3 years in a strategic or category-buying role involving electronic components, EMS, or electromechanical assemblies
University degree in engineering, economics, logistics, or supply chain management is essential
Fluent English both verbal and written is a must
You have sourced physical components such as electronics, sheet metal, plastics, or other electromechanical parts
You’ve negotiated framework agreements or long-term supply contracts with suppliers in Europe and Asia
You can read a BOM and technical datasheet, understand component requirements, and work with engineers to assess alternatives
You understand supplier lead times, distributor and direct-buying models, and the risks around component availability, including semiconductors
You’re confident with Excel and procurement analysis, including cost comparisons, total cost of ownership, and forecast scenarios. Experience with ERP systems is helpful
You communicate fluently in professional English, both in writing and in supplier conversations
You think ahead, take ownership, and are comfortable building processes in a fast-moving environment
You’re a firm, fair negotiator who builds productive long-term supplier relationships—and you’re happy to get hands-on when the situation calls for it
Bonus
Experience in a startup or scale-up, or helping move a complex hardware product from small-batch assembly toward higher-volume production, would be a game-changer in your application
