🏦 About Guama
Guama is building the credit card for Colombia's emerging middle class. Backed by international investors including Salkantay, Hustle Fund, Seedstars, and Story Ventures, we use transactional banking data (open banking) to assess creditworthiness beyond traditional credit scores. Our product rewards responsible financial behavior, helping customers build credit history and unlock higher credit limits and better benefits over time.
Founded by former Nubank operators, Guama now serves more than 25,000 customers and processes approximately US$1.5M in monthly transactions. We're a small, ambitious team tackling a complex problem, using AI to build and operate more efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on unit economics and long-term sustainability.
🚀 What You’ll Do
You'll join Guama in a high-impact role at the intersection of growth, analytics, and business strategy. You'll own our growth initiatives end-to-end, from identifying scalable acquisition channels to executing experiments and measuring results, while also supporting critical business decisions across the company.
You won't inherit a team or a playbook. Instead, you'll be expected to identify opportunities, build solutions, and turn ideas into measurable business outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Own Guama's growth strategy end-to-end, identifying, testing, and scaling sustainable acquisition channels, from strategic partnerships and referrals to digital campaigns. Lead initiatives from business case development and negotiations through execution and scaling.
- Drive growth through data and experimentation, owning key metrics such as CAC, conversion, activation, and retention. Design and run experiments across channels, segments, and funnels to continuously improve acquisition efficiency and allocate resources effectively.
- Support credit strategy through analytical deep dives into customer behavior, portfolio performance, risk segmentation, unit economics, and profitability.
- Lead cross-functional business analyses, working closely with the CEO and leadership team to tackle strategic questions across product, finance, operations, and credit.
- Translate complex data into actionable decisions, building SQL queries, financial models, and business cases that directly influence company strategy.
🧠 What We’re Looking For
We're looking for an exceptionally analytical, business-minded problem solver who loves building things and getting results. You're a great fit if you:
- Have 3–5 years of experience in strategy, business operations, growth, consulting, or similarly analytical and execution-driven roles.
- Are exceptional with numbers and SQL, capable of working independently with complex datasets, identifying meaningful insights, and translating them into business decisions.
- Have strong business judgment, with the ability to evaluate opportunities, understand unit economics, and prioritize initiatives based on their potential impact.
- Are a natural builder and self-starter, comfortable taking an ambiguous problem from initial hypothesis to execution without needing a detailed playbook.
- Combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution — you're just as comfortable building a financial model as you are reaching out to a potential partner or launching an experiment.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across teams, build relationships, and negotiate with external partners.
- Are fluent in Spanish and have high proficiency in English to collaborate with global investors, partners, and colleagues.
- Thrive in a startup environment — fast-paced, resource-constrained, execution-driven, and full of learning opportunities.
Previous experience in credit risk or growth at a fintech is a plus, but not required. We care far more about your analytical abilities, business judgment, and capacity to learn and execute.
💼 What We Offer
- Real ownership and autonomy — you'll have the freedom to identify opportunities, build initiatives, and directly influence Guama's growth and strategic decisions. As part of a small team, your work will have a tangible impact on the business and thousands of users.
- Full-time permanent contract, with 17 vacation days per year.
- Stock options.
- Fully remote work with flexible hours.
- Christmas week off to rest and recharge.
If this sounds like the kind of challenge you're ready to take on, don't hesitate to apply 📩
We can't wait to meet you and build the future of credit in Latin America together.
