Structural Drafter

Position Overview Giffen Consulting Ltd. (Giffen) is looking to hire a Structural Drafter to join our growing team. We are looking for an individual to join us on a full-time basis in our Vancouver or Toronto office. This is a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. This is an intermediate to senior-level position that offers lots of opportunities for career progression. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be able to : Produce detailed structural drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Autodesk Advance Steel. Prepare general arrangement drawings, detail drawings, and erection drawings for structural projects. Develop and maintain 3D structural models for mining and heavy industrial projects. Generate plans, elevations, sections, and details from structural models. Create and maintain drawing sets for review, approval, and construction. Qualifications + Experience A diploma in Structural Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution. Registered as an Applied Science Technologist in Canada or eligible to register. 3+ years progressive experience as a Structural Drafter on Mining / Heavy Industrial Projects. Familiarity with greenfield and brownfield mining open-pit and underground mining projects. Experience creating 2D and 3D drawings, plot plans, profiles, and details. AutoCAD is essential. Advance Steel would be beneficial. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes. Ability to present project design and concepts to clients. Fluent with MS Office software.
