SVP, Operations Are you passionate about making a real difference in the SMI field for underserved populations? Join Flourish to help transform the landscape of mental health! About Flourish Flourish is building the future of youth mental healthcare. We provide comprehensive, team-based care for children, adolescents, and young adults with serious mental health conditions. Every patient is supported by an integrated care team: a child psychiatrist, a therapist, a patient guide, and a family guide. By combining exceptional clinicians with thoughtfully designed technology, we're making high-quality specialty mental healthcare more accessible, more effective, and more scalable. We're growing quickly and are looking for exceptional leaders who care deeply about building organizations that improve lives. About the Role We're looking for an SVP of Operations to build and lead the operational organization that allows Flourish to scale nationally while preserving the quality, culture, and humanity that define our care. As a member of Flourish's senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the company's operational infrastructure scales ahead of our growth. Your organization will span People Operations, Clinical Operations, Licensing & Compliance, Credentialing, Patient Acquisition, and Payer Operations, functions that collectively ensure we can hire exceptional people, launch and support care teams, enter new markets, operate compliantly, and get paid accurately for the care we provide. We're looking for an SVP of Operations to build and lead the operational organization that allows Flourish to scale nationally while preserving the quality, culture, and humanity that define our care. As a member of the senior leadership team, you'll oversee People Operations, Clinical Operations, Licensing & Compliance, Credentialing, Patient Acquisition, and Payer Operations — the functions that collectively ensure we can hire exceptional people, launch and support care teams, enter new markets, operate compliantly, and get paid accurately for the care we provide. This is fundamentally an organizational leadership role. You'll develop leaders who build exceptional teams, establish clear accountability across functions, and create operating systems that get stronger as the company grows more complex. Partnering closely with the CEO and leaders across Clinical, Growth, Product, Finance, and Strategy, you'll anticipate what Flourish needs next rather than simply solving today's problems — identifying constraints before they slow growth and translating company strategy into operational capability. People Operations You'll lead our People Operations organization through a high-performing Director of People Operations, investing deeply in their development while helping them build an exceptional team and employee experience. Together, you'll ensure Flourish can recruit outstanding clinicians and team members through warm, proactive talent pipelines; onboard them quickly and thoughtfully; develop excellent managers; foster a culture where people can do their best work; and build the people systems required for a rapidly growing organization. You'll ensure our people strategy stays ahead of company growth, from workforce planning and recruiting capacity to leadership development, performance management, organizational design, and employee experience. Clinical Operations You'll ensure our clinical teams have the operational infrastructure they need to deliver exceptional care at increasing scale. Clinical Operations owns the operational rhythms of clinical practice, including practice management, clinician onboarding, operational support for carepods, and the systems and metrics that help our clinical teams perform at a high level. You'll partner closely with clinical leadership to continuously improve how care teams launch, reach full utilization, and operate effectively. You'll develop the leaders responsible for this work and ensure that the organization can support an increasing number of carepods, patients, states, and health-plan relationships without unnecessary operational complexity. Licensing, Compliance & Credentialing You'll oversee our Licensing, Compliance & Credentialing organization, currently led by a strong Associate Director of Licensing & Compliance, helping them continue to grow as a leader while expanding the organization's capabilities. You'll ensure these functions operate proactively rather than reactively, anticipating expansion plans, identifying regulatory risks early, and building scalable systems so that licensing, compliance, and credentialing never become constraints on patient access or market expansion. Payer Operations You'll oversee our Payer Operations organization, currently led by an Associate Director of Payer Operations, ensuring that our health-plan contracts translate into reliable operational and financial performance. You'll ensure this organization scales alongside our growing patient census, payer portfolio, and geographic footprint while building strong partnerships across Finance, Growth, Clinical Operations, and our health-plan partners. Patient Acquisition You’ll oversee the Patient Acquisition team, currently led by a VP of Growth. The team is responsible for all company KPI’s related to patient acquisition. This currently includes growing admissions by 15% MoM and ensuring access to care within 7 days for as many kids as possible. Building the Operations Organization As Flourish grows, the structure underneath this role will evolve. Today, you may directly lead several functional leaders. Over time, we expect the organization to develop additional leadership layers, potentially including a VP of Operations responsible for Clinical Operations, Licensing & Compliance, Credentialing, and Payer Operations. Your responsibility is not to remain the direct owner of every operational function. It is to build an organization with the leadership, systems, accountability, and operating cadence necessary to scale well beyond today's company. What We're Looking For We're looking for an exceptional operational leader who has helped scale a complex, fast-growing organization through multiple stages of growth. You think in organizations and systems, not simply processes. You know when a problem requires a better workflow, when it requires technology, when it requires a different organizational structure, and when it requires developing a stronger leader. You're equally comfortable partnering with a CEO on company strategy, coaching a leader through a difficult management challenge, reviewing operating metrics, redesigning an organization, and digging into an operational problem when the situation requires it. You combine high standards with deep investment in people. You know how to hold leaders accountable while helping them grow, and you take pride in building organizations that can increasingly operate without you. Healthcare experience is highly valuable, particularly experience scaling multi-state clinical operations. Most important, however, is a demonstrated ability to build exceptional teams and operating systems in environments where complexity and growth are increasing quickly. Role Requirements 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant responsibility for complex operational organizations Experience scaling operations at a high-growth startup or similarly fast-growing organization, ideally through multiple stages of company growth Experience leading multiple functions and senior functional leaders, with a demonstrated ability to build an effective leadership bench Exceptional people leadership, including a track record of developing managers into leaders and leaders into executives Strong organizational design instincts and the ability to evolve structures, roles, and accountability as a company grows Excellent operational judgment, with the ability to identify bottlenecks, simplify complexity, and distinguish root causes from symptoms Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong business intuition and a habit of using metrics to understand and improve organizational performance Demonstrated ability to translate company strategy and growth plans into operational requirements, capabilities, and execution Comfortable moving between long-term strategy and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced environment Outstanding executive communication skills and the ability to build trust and influence effectively across functions Strong project and program management discipline, particularly across complex, cross-functional initiatives Experience in healthcare operations strongly preferred, particularly in multi-state environments involving clinical operations, licensing, compliance, credentialing, or payer operations Must be at least 18 years old The Right Person The right person (you!) cares deeply about improving outcomes and quality of life for individuals with serious mental health conditions. If that resonates, we encourage you to apply whether you check all the boxes or not. We're focused on cultivating a community of people who can grow with us, and you might be the person we're looking for even if you don't realize it yet. Notably, we encourage those with lived experience and members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including people of color, LGBTQ-identifying people, veterans, and differently abled individuals. In your application, please feel free to note your pronouns (optional). If you need reasonable adjustments at any point in the application or interview process, please let us know.
