About ENTSO-E
ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.
At ENTSO-E, you will contribute to building the world’s largest integrated electricity market – impacting not only those in the energy sector but also Europe’s overall economy, today and in the future!
Job description
In this role, you will play a leading role in the planning and delivery of two key European resource adequacy studies: the European Resource Adequacy Assessment (ERAA) and Seasonal Outlooks. The European Resource Adequacy Assessment (ERAA) is a pan-European monitoring assessment of power system resource adequacy up to 10 years ahead. Based on state-of-the art methodologies and probabilistic assessments, it aims to model and analyse potential events that could adversely impact the balance between electric power supply and demand.
Combining strong project management skills with technical expertise, you will drive complex European projects from planning through delivery, bringing together experts and stakeholders across ENTSO-E, TSOs and European institutions. You will help shape methodological and market modelling developments, ensure high-quality and timely outcomes, and translate complex technical work into clear insights that support discussions and decision-making.
Rather than performing hands-on modelling yourself, you will provide technical direction, challenge and coordinate the work of experts, guide the analysis and interpretation of results, and identify opportunities to further strengthen methodologies and processes. You will also guide junior colleagues and contribute to effective collaboration and knowledge sharing within the project teams.
Please note that the internal title for this role is Resource Adequacy Senior Specialist. You will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, in the System Development Section, reporting to the Resource Adequacy Manager. Occasional travel may be required (2-6 days per year).
Your responsibilities
Your tasks will vary depending on project priorities and may include, but are not limited to:
Lead the planning and delivery of ERAA and Seasonal Outlook projects, coordinating key inputs, priorities, timelines and risks to ensure high-quality and timely outcomes.
Drive methodological and technical developments, working closely with internal experts and external stakeholders to identify improvements and guide discussions around market modelling approaches, technical studies and the interpretation of results.
Oversee data collection and quality, coordinating across teams to ensure reliable inputs and continuously improving processes and ways of working.
Lead stakeholder engagement and communication, working with ENTSO-E committees and Working Groups as well as external stakeholders such as ACER and the European Commission to build alignment and support decision-making.
Translate complex technical work into clear outcomes, leading the preparation and review of reports, presentations and other documentation and ensuring results are effectively communicated to different audiences.
Provide leadership within the project teams, guiding junior colleagues, facilitating effective meetings and follow-up, and supporting management in setting priorities and driving continuous improvement.
Your profile
We are looking for a motivated professional with the following skills and qualifications:
A master’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Engineering, Economics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, combined with 7+ years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of project management frameworks, with experience working on multi-partner projects in a multicultural environment.
Strong knowledge of the EU energy context and regulatory environment. Experience with resource adequacy assessments, electricity market studies or system planning is an asset.
Good understanding of energy modelling approaches and techniques, as well as market simulation and/or optimisation software.
Knowledge of data analytics and related software tools.
Strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences and translate complex topics into clear conclusions.
Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities and collaborate effectively in an international environment.
At ENTSO-E, we put people at the centre of our mission. Joining us means:
Multicultural environment: Work with colleagues from over 30 nationalities in a diverse, inclusive and supportive team.
Work–life balance: Benefit from our hybrid working model (2 days/week in the Brussels office and remote work).
Continuous learning & development: Access training, workshops and professional growth opportunities tailored to your career path.
Competitive compensation & benefits: Market-aligned salary, comprehensive health insurance for you and your family (including hospitalization), travel insurance, pension scheme, meal and eco vouchers, annual bonus schemes, and a flexible benefits plan.
