ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross-border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries. The ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels provides support on technical, market and policy developments for all European TSOs in their cooperation with each other, in their joint fulfilment of their legal mandates, and in the intensive interactions with EU decision-makers, regulatory agencies, associations representing network users and other stakeholders.

Job description

As System Operations Specialist, you will support and coordinate activities primarily under the System Operations Committee (SOC).

You will play a key role in ensuring strong coordination across technical projects and working groups, combining project management, stakeholder coordination, facilitate knowledge exchange, and report on the progress of key initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within ENTSO-E.

Working closely with TSO experts, you will support dedicated working groups, steering groups, and committee structures to drive timely decision-making and cross-committee collaboration

You will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, reporting directly to the System Operation Manager. Occasional travel may be required.

Your responsibilities

Your tasks will vary depending on project priorities and may include, but are not limited to:

• Supporting implementation of activities related to System Operation Guidelines, Emergency & Restoration Network Code, and the Clean Energy Package

• Coordinating the work of the Steering Group Resilient Operations or other entities under SOC, including subgroups, task forces and project teams

• Preparing meetings and tracking actions and decisions for committees, including the System Operation European Stakeholders Committee and System Operation Coordination Group.

• Engaging with stakeholders such as ACER and the European Commission, establishing necessary stakeholder networks, and mitigating risks in stakeholder relations.

• Oversee projects including planning, resource allocation, risk management and reporting

• Preparing high-quality materials and reporting for Committees, the Legal Regulatory Group, Board, Assembly, and TSO members as needed.

• Facilitating responses to TSOs’ queries and promoting initiatives that benefit members

• Identifying possible efficiency improvements in collaboration with colleagues and other teams to enhance operational effectiveness.

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated professional with the following skills and qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Relevant work experience (at least. 4 years) in the energy sector, power systems, a TSO, regulatory body, European association, or management/energy consultancy.

• Solid understanding of the European electricity market framework, System Operation Guidelines (SO GL), and Network Codes.

• Strong project management skills, with a track record of coordinating deliverables, tracking action points, and meeting strict deadlines.

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and build consensus among diverse, multinational stakeholders.

• Excellent ability to synthesize complex technical topics into clear executive summaries, presentations, and reports.

• Excellent command of English (written and oral) with strong drafting abilities.

• Ability to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
