Role Description The Take Off role is a full-time, remote position focused on preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns for construction and development projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing architectural and engineering drawings, identifying materials and labor requirements, and compiling precise measurements to support budgeting and bidding activities. The role involves collaborating with project managers, estimators, and design teams to clarify scope, verify assumptions, and ensure that takeoff data aligns with project specifications. The Take Off specialist will maintain organized records of estimates, update databases with current pricing information, and assist in value engineering by identifying cost-saving opportunities. The position requires consistent communication, adherence to deadlines, and careful attention to accuracy and detail in all project documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in construction estimating, quantity takeoffs, and plan review, including the ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software, spreadsheets, and digital collaboration tools; comfort working in a remote, technology-driven environment.
- Solid analytical and numerical skills, including attention to detail, accuracy in measurements, and the ability to compare bids and cost data.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders across multiple projects.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and terminology; experience in residential or commercial development is highly beneficial.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent practical experience also considered.
- Previous experience in estimating, takeoffs, or construction project support roles is a plus, especially within real estate development environments.
- Must have done work in the unites states and be very much familiar with wood framing
